HG/SS Information

So Serebii's coverage for HG/SS started today, detailing things such as Legendary Pokemon, Starter Pokemon, Gym Rosters, and other events.

My question is, do you guys like what you see with HG/SS?

well i see that they added all the hoenn legends into gen IV except for Deoxys (Jirachi will be in an event), but as long as Kanto isnt that condensed it'll be amazing

I'd be surprised if they didn't add Deoxys as an event much like Jirachi. My guess is Mew, Celebi, Jirachi, and Deoxys will be the only legendary event-based Pokemon for HGSS considering all other legendaries will now be obtainable through either DPP or HGSS.

i just want celebi, the only legit legend i need to complete my colection.

As long as Mew, Celebi, and Deoxys are talked about being put into HGSS and there are events for all of them including Celebi, then I'll be very happy.

After all, we still need events for Platinum: Regirock (the movie exclusive to unlock the other Regis), Shaymin, and Arceus. Hopefully they will be put onto Wi-Fi within the next upcoming months.

Also, regarding the Trainer Sprites that were ripped from HGSS, am I the only one that thinks the man in black at the bottom of the page looks VERY similar to Giovanni?

also, too bad for you, the regi one was already put into D/P, and the point was to bring in that one to platinum

oh, looks like serebii is stuck in the game, trying to find some stuff, looks like the story hasn't finished yet, since serebii hasnt mentioned the man yet, and im pretty sure they wouldnt put in steven without a battle...

Well I have Regigigas from DP, but I thought that we needed the 11th movie exclusive Regigigas to get the three other Regi's, no? At least that's what stated on Serebii.

My guess is that there's no battle for Steven (even though it would be nice), though the trainer sprite at the bottom has to signify somebody special I would assume.

Also I'm kind of confused about the Lati's in HGSS. So far Serebii has only been told by Steven that Latios is in the wild, considering that he has Heart Gold only (or Soul Silver, not sure which). Does this mean that the Lati's are game exclusive? To me it doesn't really matter considering I'm getting both HG and SS, but I think it would be good to know.

probably, and the event regigigas IS the movie regigigas, and that one happened like in 2007 (in the end somewhere, maybe in 08 at the end (im not sure) considering i have emerald and cant get both latis whenever i dont care, but yes the bottom sprite is in the group with important sprites, and it does resemble giovanni

also, the femal character hasnt appeared in a while, or maybe serebii neglected it...

HAHA! We were right! Apparently Giovanni IS in HG/SS, but his location has yet to be confirmed.

bulbapedia has the first fram of his battle sprite, and i can confim it's him since he takes his hat off in that frame...

it involves celebi but nobody knows if its ingame or event

also: considering it onvolves the single appearance of a VERY important character, it will likely be ingame, but i may be wrong.
did you hear that the sinnoh leaders cameo as well? and they give accesories so contests may return as well.

Yep, Giovanni event is directly related to a Wi-Fi event Celebi which will be available to download soon (in Japan). My guess is it will be available to download in about a year for the rest of us, considering how things played out with Darkrai.

And yes, I saw that the Sinnoh Leaders have cameos but I've only heard of Wake and Maylene as of yet.

As for the White Rock event in Kanto, my guess is that it won't be a Shaymin event but a different legendary event (Mew). We can already get Shaymin off of DPPt so there'd really be no point in adding Shaymin to HGSS. If that became true then we would just need confirmation of a Wi-Fi event Deoxys and all legendaries would be confirmed available for the 4th Generation.

i guess mew fits since its in the Johto Dex (just before celebi)

also, I think im gonna try out the rom for a few hours to see how it feels, and i got my hands on a minor patch for it (for move, item names, and stuff like natures, and some text)
