Personality: Sonji is rather rash, often rushing headlong into anything without thinking. He is also rather sarcastic, not to mention insulting to many people, especially authority. He is also rather mischievous, pulling pranks on anyone and everyone. However, he greatly respects his family and friends, and would defend them to the death. Sonji also has a distrust of the Jedi, stemmed from their treatment of his ancestor, Class Vein, and partially because of their actions during the war with the Mandalorians.

Sonji also relishes action, to the point where he would start fights simply to entertain himself. Despite this, he hates war, for he has studied wars throughout the history of the galaxy, and knows what they do to everyone: create a climate of fear, distrust, hatred, and the formation of corrupt governments, something he sees the GA as.

Biography: Sometime after Class Vein exiled himself to Caamas due to his actions in the Hutt War and Kaminoan Uprising, one of his descendants moved the family to Dantooine. Ever since a small rebellion against the Sith Emperor Darth Krayt a short time after he became Emperor were crushed by the 2 Sith Lords, Darth Necro and Darth Grieval, Dantooine has enjoyed a relative peace and, perhaps blissful, anonymity ((the rebellion will be elaborated on after Imperial Defectors on BD. It’s unimportant for this story.)). One of the descendants of Class Vein who lived on Dantooine met a member of the Nelluc family, who had lived on Dantooine since the Jedi, Rusty Nelluc, had settled there, after the Yuuzhan Vong War. The couple soon had a son: Sonji Vein.

Born 583 years after the Battle of Yavin to Kyle Vein and Nara Nelluc, Sonji was considered to be a very gifted child. 3 years later, his parents would give birth to a second son: Jorath Vein. A year later, Sonji was discovered to be Force Sensitive, something that many expected due to him being descended from 2 Jedi bloodlines. However, his parents never gave him to the Jedi, partly due to a distrust of the Jedi by both parents (no Nelluc since Rusty had served the Jedi, just like no Vein had served the Jedi since Class), and partially because they wanted to give Sonji as normal a life as possible, despite the multiple offers from the Jedi. However, Sonji did receive some training. A tradition started by Class Vein, the eldest Force-Sensitive child would be given Class’s gold lightsaber, passed down from generation to generation, and would be trained in the art of lightsaber combat, and in a variety of Force techniques, including telekinesis, Mind Trick, and stealth. Although the eldest was given the lightsaber, all force sensitive children were trained by their parents in the same way. In fact, when Jorath was discovered to be Force-Sensitive, Sonji would assist in his training. Of note is that each generation of Vein and Nelluc would have at least one Force-Sensitive child, who would be trained by their parents, provided they were Force-Sensitive as well.

While he was growing up, Sonji would hear old war stories from the Nelluc’s family droid: R3-D3. After his former master, Revan Onasi, disappeared shortly after the Fall of Coruscant during the Yuuzhan Vong War, Threedee fell under the ownership of his best friend, Rusty Nelluc. He dutifully served under the Jedi, and, shortly after Rusty had settled on Dantooine, was taken to Bespin, with orders by Rusty: “Wait for him, serve him, and when you no longer serve him, come back to Dantooine. And keep your memory alive.” Threedee, knowing what Rusty meant, followed these orders to the letter: He would evade memory wipes through rather clever means, though his main method would be storing his memory in a backup program, then triggering it after the scheduled wipe, appearing as a simple service droid in Bespin’s carbonite business.

Threedee also waited, for over a hundred years, for someone to get him. The wait paid off, when a Sith wavering in his loyalties came to Bespin in search of a rogue Sith, and met Threedee. The Sith would indeed turn against the order, and would take the droid with him. Some time afterwards, the former Sith would go to Dantooine, and leave Threedee with the Nellucs, who had lived on Dantooine ever since Rusty settled there, and would then go off on his own. The Nellucs would take no part in galactic affairs afterwards, and neither would Threedee. The former Sith was presumably killed afterwards.

The story by Threedee Sonji loved the most was the tale of Revan Onasi. Considered a hero by most Dantooinans, and indeed, a rather controversial figure to the Jedi Order, considered by some to be a hero, considered by others to be a heartless murderer, Sonji considered Revan his idol. As he grew older, Sonji developed a distrust of the Jedi, partly because of his 2 bloodlines, partly because they had such a controversial view of his idol. In Sonji’s opinion, anyone who would give up their own life for what they believed was right was a hero, regardless of his actions in the past.

When Sonji started school (yes, they have schools in the galaxy far, far away, people), he met 2 people who would come to be his best friends: the human girl Kiki Munden (called Ki for short), who he would later develop a crush on (though he would never act on it), and the male Whiphid N’Nuruhk (called Nur for short), whose ancestors moved to Dantooine after the Whipid Civil War on Toola. The years passed with Sonji and his friends always together, to the point where it almost seemed like they knew what each other was going to say before they said it.

Sonji’s distrust of the Jedi grew to greater heights due to their actions in the Mandalorian-Galactic Alliance War. Considering this as proof that the Jedi are just as corrupt as the government they served, Sonji declared (to his friends and family) that under no conditions would he join the Jedi Order, for he refused to serve anything that didn’t seem to care for those they served. This view lightened somewhat when it became known that Jena Skywalker had left the Jedi Order. At this, Sonji joked that the only reason he would join the Jedi Order would be to defect from them and join Jena. And yet, despite all of this, Sonji does long for a greater purpose, to be out there saving the galaxy, although he would always say that he was content with his life, and that he simply wants a normal life.

But despite his desires, it seems Sonji is destined for something more. After all, it is the blessing, or the curse, of being descended from 2 Jedi bloodlines.

Dislikes: The Galactic Alliance, The Jedi, War, that which he sees as evil and/or corrupt

Strengths: Limited understanding of droidspeak, historical knowledge, hand-to-hand combat, large Force reserve

Weaknesses: Rather untrained (compared to other Jedi), ignorance regarding other cultures, politics, average pilot, has a tendency to be blunt and rude

Fears: Death of his friends and family, being abducted by the Jedi, leaving Dantooine and never seeing his home again, big cities, being a disgrace to his legacy

It will be interesting to see what Sonji thinks after schism in the Jedi Order happens. I wonder if he'll act on it.

I have plans for him anyway. I'll start a solo arc for him in Dantooine that basically leads to him leaving the planet and joining the Jedi (for now). it's irrelevant to larger matters right now, just like he is.
