Forum Rules
Last modified 15 November 2009

These are the forum rules. These are the guidelines that users of the Creative Worlds forums will be held to during their time here. This includes you. Please look them over. They are subject to change at any time, so do check back.

General Guidelines:

- Post intelligent Threads. What this means, generally, is don't start pointless or spam topics (unless otherwise permitted). They will be deleted! This includes polls. Make them worthwhile, or they will be gone! If you're not sure whether a topic is allowed, just ask myself or an active moderator.

- Please Make Use of Grammar and Spelling. It's one thing if you make typos or English isn't your first language (or even if you're joking... not excessively), but constantly typing in shorthand and a poor use of language mechanics just make it an eyesore for other members. This is a discussion board, not a chatroom. Take a little more time to make your post look nice.

- Respect Other Members. This is most important! Do not call any member outside their username, nickname, or any other name they have chosen for themselves. Don't bash another members for their opinions (but do challenge their opinions if you wish, but do so in a constructive manner). This is a community, so learn to get along. Flaming and flame baiting will not be tolerated.

- No Advertising. This is Creative Worlds, not someotherdomain.net, and we couldn't care what those guys do. Advertising topics or replies will be edited/deleted. If you wish to advertise another website, you may use your signature or profile.

- No Swearing/Vulgar Language. I don't care how old you are. This applies to everyone. This is a family page. Granted this may be allowed in fan fictions and the like, just to add color to the story, and it is because of this I've scaled back on the words that are prohibited in the language filter, but using language that is hurtful to any members is not tolerated here.

- No 'Adult' Themes. This place is meant for everyone. I don't really care how mature you believe you are. The set rule is that all material and content should not go beyond a PG-13 level. I have absolutely zero tolerance for this kinda thing, so don't push your luck. I have the last say on all material. If you're not sure whether something is appropriate, just ask an admin or a moderator. Don't be afraid to do so, better safe than sorry. If it's good, it will be approved.

- No suggestive links. Don't link to any sites or accounts that are full of adult content. Links will be removed, and punishment will follow.

- Don't Create Multiple Accounts. You're only one person, and there is no reason for you to have more than one account. This is just annoying and confusing. If such an account is created, one of the accounts will be deleted (I'll decide which one), and the other one may be punished. The Admin team sees IP addresses, so we'll know what's going on. If you want a new account, or if someone you share a computer with wants an account, bring it up.

- Don't Resurrect Dead Topics. It just gets in the way. If it's an average topic, you're better off recreating it. If it was something more involved or unique, you may revive the topic PROVIDED you add something significant to it.

- No Multiple Posting. When you submit a message and have something new to add, and you see that you were the last one to leave a message, please use the EDIT button located above your post to make changes. Creating multiple posts one after another is annoying and considered SPAM. Remember that this is not a chat room. There are exceptions, however. If you are the last to reply to a topic and have something IMPORTANT to add, but the topic itself is dormant or dead (after 2 weeks or so), you may add another post to bump the topic up into view. ALSO, if you have created an art thread and are posting updates, you are allowed to create multiple posts as long as they aren't spammy such as "Why isn't anyone looking at my art" etc. This is also permitted if you're adding to a fan-fiction or something similar.

- Don't Abuse Smilies. Such as producing a long string of them. Need I say why this is annoying? These are intended to accentuate a post, not overwhelm everyone.

- No ROM distribution. Period. Don't share copyrighted material, such as ROMs or anime episodes. Game developers and animators don't eat for free. Their job is their livelihood. Please support them by buying their product from a legitimate retailer, so they can continue to make games for us. But don't share ROMs. It is illegal, that's all there is to it. According to American copyright law, fan games are permitted as long as they charge no money for their work.

- Use Good Judgment. You don't have to reply to a topic right away. Take all the time that you need to think out a good answer to a question. Better replies take more time. Think before you speak. It may occur in the heat of a debate that you may end up saying something you can't take back. Don't post immediately. Rather, come back to it after a period of time. Also, don't post or say something offensive. We should all be aware of what common sense is. Make good use of it.

If there are any questions, please send me a PM.
