1;; NO SUPER CHARACTERS.
Now this board is more believable then some, this means that we understand that a mutant's power may be more than able to destroy multiple room or even a building. However, howe ver some of the canon character will need their power level will be down played. Such mutants will be those like Jean Grey. In normal canon she is the most powerful psionic mutant and is the Phoenix Force. Here due to her age, mental blocks limiting her powers, as well as not under going a second mutation making her that powerful her limits will be weaker than her mainstream counter part.
2;; GODMODDING.
Godmodding is not allowed and as any RPer knows what that is it shouldn't need to be explained but just in case it does here it is.
- Character having numerous powers at incredibly powerful levels regardless of control.
- Rendering your character invincible in a manner not within the app itself or using their abilities in way that the ability can not be used in order to make your character invincible.
- Puppeteering an other's character's actions, thoughts, reasons, or simple negating them and creating your own.
3;; NPCING.
As far as NPCing is concerned the staff as decided that only they will be allowed to have NPC type accounts and activity control such characters. What this means is that the staff will be having NPC account only. These characters are not meant to played like everyday like a normal character but only when they are needed to progress threads and plots. Many of them are still applicable by members you need only ask the staff member using the NPC if it is fine and anything you need to know about them. Members are not allowed to have NPCs or use them in their posts other than in passing. An example of this would be a member being able to mention in their post that they just had a conversation with any other character but only being able to say as much and not anything else. Such small passing statement or actions such as a character walking out just as a thread begins are all that is allowed for a member to do. This is done so that others will know what characters are full NPCs and no person would be control or setting up story for a character not yet accepted.
4;; STANDARDS AND REALISM.
All this is simply common sense. There isn't going to be a chance of your character being a kid with high government contacts and a high up position themselves. If you select a scientist or any such character they should act according to that character's age and field as well as speak like it to. Although a decently high standards is expected in your posts some character may require you to use personality traits, words, or even a level of effort you are not use to. Putting it quite frank, do not apply for a character that you just think his cool. Make sure you understand that character and are ready and able to RP them as the character was designed minor changes are allowed but in the field of canons they will be minor as they are already established.
This also applies to filling out your applications and keeping them as real as possible for original characters. Now we understand that as an original character that they are your own creations but you have to keep them within believable standards. Examples would be this. There is a character that knows over nine languages, master martial artist and acrobat, and a great hacker and finally is seventeen years old. Now in real life this simply isn't going to happen and in comics they are given the according and believable background to enable it however, a character like that who was the start quarterback in his high school football team with no mention of any of those skills leveling a normal jock life until his powers came out isn't going to have a chance of having any of those skills. Please stick to your common sense when it comes to this when creating an original character.
Furthering this we will now discuss the Play By choice that a person may pick for their character and what is in the application. First thing that needs to be said is that we do not allow the use of Myspace people on this board what so ever so don't post one for the play by. Now if you choice to use classified as a 'nerd' or 'emo' for your play by then you are expected to stick by what those people are. What this means is that we will not be seeing either of those two as the quarter back of the high school football team or so well liked it makes the jocks jealous of them but they are to afraid to do anything against them. There isn't a possible way that either of the two can reach that status not only given their personality and psychical limits but the high school hierarchy in general would refuse to allow it. As we all have either attained or are attaining high school currently this should be known to each and everyone of us. This even extends to their personalities, if you chose to have your character as 'emo' then you are to stick to their personality traits so we won't be seeing any that are 'caring of everyone' or any of the likes.
54;; ACTUALITY VS FANFIC.
To put it as bluntly as we can so everyone understand "
WE ARE NOT A SMUT BOARD OR A PLACE FOR YOUR CHILDISH FANTASIES, IF YOU WANT THAT GO TO FANFICS.COM." What this means is that we are not a board for your character(s) to solely seduce as many characters as they can or purely to take part in 'smut' threads. What this also means is that we are not here for you to bring your character fantasies to life as well. Wolverine will not become suddenly attracted to men and hooking up with Cyclops, over time Northstar will not grow bored and turn heterosexual again, Storm will not hop from bed to bed and flirt with anything with a penis between their legs and a pretty face, I believe everyone is getting the picture now. Although some creative liberty can be taken given the fact evolution didn't have every character in it and some are slightly different from their older counterparts due to age you will not be turning a character like Storm into the village bicycle or completely redoing their personality from how the character normally is or going against whats written in your application. This includes changes made to sexuality seemly because you choose to do so, we have no problem with any sexuality but we do not allow someone like Wolverine to become bisexual or heterosexual just because you want it to be. A change such as that can only be done if the character has well established versions of their selves that are such as Colossus or information within the comics reveal such as the mutant Magik who although never officially state has shown to have a crush on Kitty Pryde.
6;; SEXUAL BEHAVIOR AND OTHER MATURE CONTENT.
There are no rules against having sex of just about any kind here other than these. Sex threads are permitted but take in mind that we may have younger members and others that may not want to read them. Because of this we feel it is best to simply create a separate, hidden, and password protected forum for those of you that may wish to engage in such a thread. In order to access it you are required to PM an Admin telling them why and it will be given. That being said, any who then can view it can not trash anyone's thread in that forum or PM an admin telling them about it. All these measures were token for people like you yet you still read it if you don't like it then don't read it.
7;; SPELLING & GRAMMAR.
We understand that not everyone is a champion speller or an English teacher but that doesn't give you permission to have sloppy posts. Make sure to spell and grammar check every post you make so that its much easier to read and reflects a better light on you.
8;; POSTING MINIMUMS.
As many of you may already know we have a desire for giving at least the minimum. When you post your applications you'll find that each section has a minimum that needs to be posted, this is to be followed with no expectations. Each section has their own paragraph requirement and each paragraph needs to be a minimum of five sentence. This applies to all paragraphs including any additional ones you may add to the section. More is welcomed and in fact encouraged, there is no limit to how big they can be just how small. Posting a thread or replying to one also has a standard. Paragraph size is encouraged to be five sentences as well, however its understandable that counting each one may be too much of a hassle for you. Because of this it has been decided that all posts do not have to follow the same rule as an application. It still must be in paragraph form and no one or three liners can not substitute for a paragraph no matter what you may think. Such parts can be used for dialogue and if you do not what to use the quote tags for someone else's lines. However, in place of every paragraph needing to be five complete sentences there is a minimum word limit of four hundred word, you are far more than welcomed to go over this limit but in no way are you to go under it, a word counter is provided under the table or 'box' that you type the text for posting in to aid you in this.
