In days long past, the supernatural ran rampant without much regard to the rest of the world. They frequently intermingled with the mortal creatures, affecting them both positively and negatively. Soon, the humans rose to power, with their new technology and techniques the supernatural world had no choice but to go underground. Of course, with the great powers of the higher supernaturals (gods) they could have fought with the mortals, but at what cost? No, they decided that it would be more beneficial to world to simply hide and blend in to the new society of humans. And so, they founded an Academy, a place for the new generation of supernaturals to learn how to blend into human society. In the very beginning it was only a loose gathering of people, but as the world evolved so did the school. And soon it became the school it is today. The school began in the mediterranean, a center of sorts for all kinds of supernatural beings. But to keep mortal beings from discovering it, it has been moved from continent to continent, but man's technology grew more powerful each year. Now, the school is located on an unchartered island, protected from prying eyes by a special barrier utilizing ancient Shadow and Light magic. Only those allowed inside are able to enter the barrier. |
