The ratings for Chris's last season were
QUOTE

The 2010-11 season averaged a 2.5 rating in the 18-49 demographic and 8.48 million viewers.

For this season
QUOTE
Final season 13 averages: 1.9 rating in the 18-49 demographic with 6.87 million total viewers.

It is the demo that is most important for advertising reasons.

Many episodes this season were series lows. The finale was the lowest rated finale in 13 years (that info was given out before the final ratings were announced so may have changed).

I thought the season finale was pretty bad... and since when did SVU become one of those shows that makes you wait 3 months to see the case closed?

Didn't matter to me though cuz the whole thing was SO boring, i could care less what happens. Kinda lost interest when Chris left anyway..

I tried to keep watching to be "faithful" to the brand....but I gave up after the first 2 episodes this season. Without Stable (CHRIS), there is no chemistry between characters and the story lines, that I saw anyway), were dead in the water. This is the first time in over 10 years that I didnt watch the season, let alone the finale. I sudden feel very old dry.gif .

So starting at like episode 6, the chemistry is better. Olivia stops crying over everything and starts to like Amaro...

Just in case you're looking for a reason to watch:) 3 episodes were very good, the rest were depressing.

My reason for watching left last season. I just find it interesting that some people claimed that Chris wasn't necessary for the success of the show- the numbers tell a very different story. Glad he's moved on.

VERY few people say that! It's like a completely new show now that just happens to star Mariska and Ice. The writing is different... everything is different and I just keep watching it cuz it has a good time slot for me.

Much more into the re-runs.

You are right about that, Shanna. It's a totally different L&O SVU. The main plot is interesting but then all is lost from there on.

The SVU squad room is totally different and it is not just the new officers but also in the chain of command down to the way the cases are handled.

Yes, Olivia's character was all over the place but so were the others. I know they say give the new crew time to get a good feel on their script writing but where it started to feel good again watching the viewer got back sided by too much "filler"
plots shoved into the story and by the end of the show I wanted to kick myself in the butt for watching.

Think the worst part of S13 was the arrogant way this show was shoved into SVUer's faces and the cold, crude pettiness of management giving themselves generous back slaps after every show.

There have been other shows that have made transitions after losing a main character. I'm sorry to say SVU isn't one of them. They were never in the Top Ten shows for the week and they were up against weaker shows most of the time. With Stabler and Benson at the helm, they very seldom were lower than 15th.

I've said my farewell to SVU and shed my last tears for its demise, oops, new direction

I've been saying this since season six, which is when Neal Baer's love affair of Oliska's twat began. I'll never forget his quote, "She is the real star of the show." How did he think he was going to get away with that one since Chris' name was listed first?

Neal Baer relegated CM ( and everyone else ) to a supporting role. For him the only star was MH and that changed the show forever.

Love your Roman/Salome banner.
