Hello, fellow authors,
After knowing of Castle World's existence since its inception, I have at last taken the leap to joining. Most of you, I expect, already know me from Classic-Castle.com, where I was (am) Gaming Moderator and a writer emeritus of the now-defunct CCRP (and creator of the second, shorter-lasting, attempt). You may, or may not, be also familiar with my slower-moving attempt at Lego storytelling: Grandfather's Tale. This attempt at a picture-based Lego epic is the main reason I've joined: I'm in a creative mood at the moment, and managed to put out the short Chapter VI, and I want to try and keep the creative steam going. I'm at grad school this year, and currently unable to work (due to the shortage of on-campus jobs and lack of legal off-campus options), so I have more time, and I want to utilise it--but I need some fire under my belly. So... here I am, seeking to stoke that fire. ~Formendacil -------------------- Faërie is a perilous land, and in it are pitfalls for the unwary and dungeons for the overbold. And overbold I may be accounted, for though I have been a lover of fairy-stories since I learned to read, and have at times thought about them, I have not studied them professionally. I have been hardly more than a wandering explorer (or trespasser) in the land, full of wonder but not of information.

Yay, a new member!
Hello there, Formendacil! I'm glad to see you here. I've looked at A Grandfather's Tale and will have to read it more thoroughly. Nice to see you here, Formendacil. I've read most of A Grandfather's Tale, and I liked it a lot. Right now we're in a slightly slow period here at CW, but it goes in spurts. If you'd like to see some interesting discussions about writing techniques, check out The Writer's Guild forum.
I'll be seeing you around! -------------------- |

Nice to see you around! As Zepp said you've come in a really slow period here but who knows what might happen... Myself I am quite busy with studies and work but I'll take a look at your Grandfather's Tale as soon as I can.
Welcome anyhow! -------------------- "All disasters stem from us. Why is there war? Perhaps because now and then I might be inclined to snap at my neighbour. Because I and my neighbour and everyone else do not have enough love. Yet we could fight war and all its excrescences by releasing, each day, the love that is shackled inside us, and giving it a chance to live."

My dear gentlemen,
Thank you for your kind welcomes--and don't worry unduly over the "slowness" of the moment. On the one hand, my arrival cannot but stir a LITTLE ripple of action into the placid waters. On the other hand, slow is a good speed to keep up with. In any case, I'm aboard and ready for when the next "spurt" hits. I should, i suppose, actually start a thread in the appropriate forum for my tale. Again, thank you for your welcome. -------------------- Faërie is a perilous land, and in it are pitfalls for the unwary and dungeons for the overbold. Ahh - that's an old familiar name - nice to see you here!
Heh heh heh... they are right - typical authors/artistic types, we tend to come and go through CW as inspiration hits us. I like to look at CW as a nice comfortable study for a small group of authors to get together and chat when the mood hits us. :-) Either way, very good to see you here - I know you are a big fan of a lot of Tolkien (and know way more about it than I ever will) and to me, I can see some of that in your comic that you're writing. Looking forward to having you here! -------------------- |

Welcome to the forum Formendacil. Your rippling has s succeeded in stirring me to action, at least. It is good to have another member of the old school around, it takes me back to the days of yore.
Due to my lack of activity around here, this is the first time that I have heard of your story. Its been a while since I've seen a LEGO epic, so I'll waste no time in starting to read it. Welcome again. -------------------- Freedom is the freedom to say that two plus two equals four. If that is granted, all else follows.

Indeed, sir! Yours is a name I've not seen a lot of these days, but it certainly takes me back to a golden era, when Constantius VII sat on the Golden Throne. I hope you're keeping well, these long after days.
Always glad to be of service to the Lego community--rousing AFOLs from their slumber. -------------------- Faërie is a perilous land, and in it are pitfalls for the unwary and dungeons for the overbold.
