name/nickname: orli

age I'm such an old lady - 23

how you found us Recruited from Neo

what you do: I wait tables, and I now work in a bookstore buying and selling textbooks. (I live in a small SEC college town.)

time role-playing: Oh lord, over ten years? I was writing before I even found Neo too.

favorite genres Medieval, Medieval Fantasy, Victorian, Victorian Fantasy, Steampunk? I haven't really ever done anything with that. I don't know much about it beyond what it is and the costumes I see online. I know it's cliché, but I do love a decently executed wolf or horse roleplay. Can't forget my roots smile.gif Marauder's Era. I have an absurdly fleshed out OC and I love her the most.

best role-play to date: Always a fantasy board. Unless we're talking about other forums, then it's been the Marauder's forums run by my friends Effy and Alyssa.

favorite movies: I have way too many. Moulin Rouge has always been in my top five.

favorite books: Anything set in Tortall by Tamora Pierce. Sara Douglass is another favorite author. Fire-Bringer and The Sight by David Clement-Davies. Crown Duel by Sherwood Smith. A Song of Ice and Fire by George R. R. Martin. The Chronicles of Narnia, The Hobbit, The Lord of the Rings.

favorite music: Honestly? Showtunes.

hobbies: Writing is really my only hobby right now. I'm a bit too busy and too poor for anything else. Unless you count yelling "no ma'am!" and "EXCUSE YOU!" at my dog.

Hi there!

I am jealous that you work in a bookstore, I've always wanting to work in one! Preferably a cute little antique one.

Moulin Rouge is one of my favorite films too. I likes you.

I hope you get settled in here easily! Don't hesitate to ask any questions and please go ahead and start a role-play if you have any ideas!

Haha well right now, the bookstore is nothing special. My boss is stressing out because the semester is ending, so he has a million things going on, and won't let any new people do anything that isn't shelving books. I'm not used to being treated like I have no idea what I'm doing, or that I'm not smart enough to figure it out - especially not by people my age (his brother).

But yes, the growing up to be Belle and work in a cute little bookstore idea would be awesome.

Hey!
Welcome to the site. (:
It looks like we have some preferred genres in common. I'm always a sucker for Medieval or Medieval fantasy, and I haven't tried much Victorian stuff but I've always wanted to.
Also Moulin Rouge is amazing~
Hope to see you around role playing (:

Welcome to the site! I'm kind of getting back into the swing of things here, so it's wonderful to see new faces. I look forward to writing with you.

Yay! I'm glad to be here. I'm still tinkering with the character page I made, trying to get the descriptions as perfect as possible.

Last week I had a Victorian fantasy Jack the Ripper plot up on Neo, and it was actually going really well and would have been interesting, but it got taken down. So that is something I would like to try out here. I'm looking forward to writing with you guys too!

And yes, Moulin Rouge is just all sorts of beautiful.

I saw Anna Karenina yesterday and if you guys like Moulin Rouge...it's definitely got that same sort of fantastical, suspended-reality kind of feel <3 I loved it.

I've actually been wanting to see Anna Karenina for a long time. Joe Wright and Keira Knightley are one of my favorite film teams, and the trailers look beautiful. Unfortunately I live in a small college town in Mississippi so our theater shows the mainstream big movies. Maybe I'll get to see it when I go home for Christmas!
