I'm looking to do this next year, subject to getting a place.
And the place I'm staying at (run by two former Dorset residents I know from my old running days) was wondering if anyone else fancies coming on down, before they advertise their services more widely (as they are close to the etape route). The place is here; Pyrennean Retreat And John has said; "Before we advertise it, do you think anyone in your club would be interested in coming for L’etape and the Tour week. We can take 3 people with bikes and offer various packages, including half board, airport pickup from Toulouse or Pau, transport to registration in Pau, transport to the start at Pau and pick up in La Mongie, and transport to the best viewing points for the tour." Shame we didn't know about this earlier. Rose and I were looking to book where we went this year for the week before and the Tour week. It was agreed, but nothing signed and then the owners decided they were going down, so we couldn't have it.
Consequently we decided to forget the Tour and the Etape and booked for June instead. Hey Ho.  |
