Background: Haley James was a quiet shy girl who came from a very large family, she was the youngest of 6 children. Haley james was a tutor at tree hill high, she wasn't very popular but that didn't really matter to her. She had her best friend lucas who was really more like a brother to her. Haley worked for lucas's mom as a waitress at her cafe.

During her sophomore year at tree hill, lucas joined the varsity basketball team along side his half brother Nathan. When nathan was making the rest of the team haze lucas so he would quit, haley agreed to tutor nathan so he would leave lucas alone. during that year nathan and haley got very close and ended up falling in love. Haley brought the estranged brothers together. That year the varsity team went undefeated in the season, and during there first playoff game the ravens lost. That night haley and nathan decided to get married with haleys parents blessing.

During the first year of the marriage, haley started working hard on her music career and in a moment of pettiness decided to go on tour instead of staying and working on her life with nathan. After haley abandoned nathan, she decided that her dreams didnt mean anything without nathan so she came back to try and work on there marriage. After punishing haley for months, nathan decided to forgive his wife and they got remarried. After a very rocky first year of the marriage, nathan and haley worked really hard to get back to a positive place in there lives.
