There really isn't much to say about this... It was an old story that I created for BigBg of RMXP.net Forums for his Pokemon Seal/The Platinum Gale project, and I'm pretty sure the project was cancelled and the story unused. I think it's pretty decent, so if you want to use it for your projects go ahead! There is no limit on takers. (Credit would be nice but it is not required)
My commentary to him on game features and good project topics in all its full glory
| QUOTE (me) | Pokemon Platinum Gale Ok, I’ll be giving you advice in this blue font. Now for the first part obviously comes the name of the game. In my opinion Platinum Gale would make a smart title due to the influence of the sky palace and from what I know, a flying legendary, along with other story elements. In just about every Pokemon game title so far there has been a relation to color (Sapphire is a blue stone, Emerald is a green one) and platinum is the best and most effective color/adjective to go with the game. A game made by Bigbg459 of RMXP.net forums; additional story, design, and presentation work done by Arkayne Under the game title you’ll have the game’s team members. Since this is a small project there are two positions, the game creator and the support. You are obviously the creator, and if you decide to use my ideas and help, then I’d have a small place on the team as support. If there are any additional support members in the future you’d list them here and their position.
Game overview: Capturing the adventurous and carefree energy from the original Pokemon games, Platinum Gale is a fan project that takes the best elements from the classics and works on making them even better to provide an experience that doesn’t fall short of expectations. Platinum Gale introduces its own original features and enriches the universe of Pokemon with an all new story that follows the two main characters on an epic quest that gets more dangerous than ever before. The overview is very basic and the least of expectations for a good project topic, but it is the main chance to make fans. The game overview is where you’ll give a lowdown on the game in the best, most complementing way possible. This doesn’t mean that you should lie, but you are definitely going to have to use the right words and ideas to make your game sound like nothing but the best. Use my example to learn the things that you should take about.
Features: * Pokemon Platinum Gale keeps the battle system that every one loves and is fond of and adds some special attention to a new class of Pokemon... * ‘Catching them all’ may not be the all time focus of this game’s story, but it still plays an important part in your quest. In addition to the standard trainer equipment, expect some new surprises that make catching Pokemon fun and exciting. * A larger focus on the story that in some cases is more limited and in other cases has a large openness. In the end the game tells a story while the player won’t feel restricted and will have more than enough share in the choice of actions of the characters. * Play as a confused young boy with a hard past or a confident girl born into a rich family of respected trainers. One begins their quest in a small and quiet town that relies on many traditional methods to get work done. That is, until the large company of ??? takes notice of them and begins their new campaign... Meanwhile the other begins their quest in their mansion of a house, and finally gains the right to become a new Pokemon trainer. The family is famous for being some of the best trainers in the region, and she wouldn’t want to fall low of those expectations but at the same time wants more then fame... * The game story is full of twists and surprises with the back-story full of legends actually playing a huge role in the game. As the two characters make their own paths in their travels they find out more than they could ever imagine. * Platinum Gale uses the smartest and most fitting Pokemon from the whole Pokedex to put into its locations, and they won’t be the same old choices either. Along with this, Platinum Gale introduces a few new Pokemon of enormous power.... * The locations all have a nice, distinctive with the mapping skills to top it all off. The features are any important aspects of the game. From the battle system to the story, list the gameplay elements that make the story exciting and make sure they sound exciting to the other members.
Motivation & Unique Elements: I can’t help you for this part. Just list your motivations for the project (and we don’t need a life story either ) and what will make this game so great and unique, what will separate this from the other countless fan games.
With that out of the way you have to learn the proper way to get other members to just be into your game and what you say, here are my top three tips: #3. Proper grammar. Take your time when you write and get it all right. If you have the right grammar than people will obviously think more of your intelligence and expect more from you. #2. Notice my writing style. You need to have the right style to get people hyped about your game. I’m not saying to block off all emotion and become a hype-machine, but don’t get too far off topic unless it comes to you (like a question or comment). Also, don’t get into big fights, just try and ignore any bad comments that come your way and get the helpfulness out of them (like turning a bad comment into constructive criticism), I’ve been in large forum fights before, and they’ve never ended up good. #1. Make everything exciting and have them waiting for more. Release bits of information every so often that end up hinting at other things, give a few screenshots of the game in action, and do like a monthly feature that introduces a location/route and the Pokemon it has.
This is all I can do until the next document, try and improve the project topic with this. |
Revised Backstory - Part One
| QUOTE (me) | Backstory: In the prehistoric times of the world, a period that was home to creatures such as Kabutops and Aerodactyl, there were three Pokemon of extroadinary power. These three Pokemon shared responsibility in managing the world and Pokemon that had created them. Trouble was an uncommon thing to find during this peaceful age, and so the three would travel the lands and make sure that the world would forever remain ageless. Of these, one made its home in the peaceful seas, where it swam with the hordes of water Pokemon, its slick colorful body gliding along the ocean floors. Another could be seen roaming the beautiful plains and forests of the earth from miles away, its huge red scales glistening from the sun, or at least when it was not hibernating in the ancient tunnel systems that branched under the mainlands. And the last was of the calm skies, where it would circle around the mountain, Aerius, and observe the lands, its agile body moved with ease often fading in and out. It was in this world, where Pokemon and people were created to exist equally, drawing upon each other's abilities to succeed. And it all went well at first, but as the Humans evolved increasingly fast, so did their ambitions. As the Humans would progress with technology, quicker and quicker, only increasing with profeciency and greed by the year, the state of the world and their previous companions were of no concern to them. Land was cleared to make room for prospering businesses, the water that flowed by their numerous villages was viewed as a 'big bucket of waste'. The air was slowly letting in dangerous chemicals and waste and worst of all, the Pokemon were abused or enslaved by most people. The highest point of the midland, Kuwagi Crater, was inhabited by people fairly quickly. It was there that the headquarters of the world, Kuwagi City, was claimed to be the 'Watchplace of the Gods'. It was because of this, that the three Pokemon of the world would rise from their slumbers. So furious with the desecration of his home, Groundon, king of the land, summoned up an earthquake so fierce that it split the region in two, having them drift off into opposite directions in the endless oceans. Kyogre, no longer being able to rest due to the disgusting quality of his once-pure water, called upon waves so tall and mighty that they quickly swept across the land. And it was not long before the mightiest of the three would wake soon... Last of all to notice the damage that was taking place to the world, Solus's wrath came down upon the humans in the form of a tornado that covered the vast sky with an eerie, quiet wind. Drifting over the regions, the world went quiet, in an awkward peace that would last centuries. The region of Orion was completely purified and in time, the water was absorbed, and the land flourished. It was then, that the people and Pokemon that had seeken refuge in the caves emerged... ready to start a new life that was free of abuse. |
Revised Backstory - Part Two
| QUOTE (me) | Introduction: Odion Region was left in despair after the brutality of the attacks, yet cleared away were the burdens that had destroyed the land in the past. The seas, although vastly changed with tunnel collapses and habitat modifications, still held a place for those of the water. And the mountains still stood high and strong. But the land itself, although harmed, was slowly rebuilding itself. Out of the caves rushed the tribes of Pokemon that had seeken refuge in the tunnels. Small groups of Sandslashes, Solrocks, even a great Steelix, had found their way through the devastation. But of them all, the most important that emerged were the few and ancient Clefables, leading their young Cleffas to safety. The most forgiving and mysterious of all, the Cleffas lent their help to the Humans in restoring what was lost, the price being that the Humans never treat Pokemon wrongly again. And during all of this, the Clefables sat and meditated for days at a time. Until one midnight, during celebrations full of dancing and singing, the wise ones rose and summoned out of the sky, several large meteors that crashed into distant areas of the region. Out of these meteors, containing their strange and unworldly material, rose the new generation of Pokemon...
Afterevents: Solus, gliding above Odion to make sure that all was safe again, had been keeping a watchful eye over the Humans as of recently. The mesmerising song sung by the Cleffas had invoked his sleepiness once again though. Almost crashing against the earth as he recklessy made his way back to Mount Aerius, Solus went into a deep hibernation once again. To avoid further conflict with the fearsome Pokemon, a handful of powerful Humans along with four of the five Clefables, summoned up all their strength to send Mount Aerius into the 'heavens', where it could not be seen by men. And with that, they disappeared.
Almost-Current Times: All was going very well in the Human's eyes. Within a couple centuries, Humans had restored much of the past using their knowledge and memory, along with quite a nice number of new inventions. One person stood above all with the technological advancements though, Thomas Gelton (ge-el-ton), the leader of PTech Co., the name for training equipement, beginner courses, and overall Pokemon development. Gelton was an innovator, a "dreamer" some might say. Having the story of the three legendaries passed on throughout generations, he wanted to act on his curiousity and search for evidence of the 'goliaths' (as they were known). A doubter of the stories himself, Gelton didn't want to waste any time with his search that would bring him fame and trust whether he proved the theory right or wrong. Hiring (or blackmailing into service) a wide range of skilled trainers, Thomas sent them right to the mythical mountain of Aerius, or at least where townspeople had claimed it was. Recieving reports every few hours, nothing unusual was sighted. Yet as a feeling of eerieness and dread crept over the party, all connection was lost.
Current Times: "Odion is not in the same state of safety as it was just a couple of months before 'Gelton's promise to uncover the secrets of the past'. Something terrible has crept over the land, beyond all evil that we have experienced. We have never once seen bloodshed and torture like this... Gelton has reportedly gone insane, and many Pokemon are acting very suspiciously now. Well... at least of the ones that you can call Pokemon, as new ones have started to appear. A new breed, known as Shadow Pokemon, have been causing damage beyond belief lately. Villages are slowly taken in darkness, as the Shadows are no game. They're vicious and attack Humans and Pokemon on sight, although we're doing our best to fight back. For some reason I doubt that the old tales of Solus were true and that "all was cleared in one blow". I think that there is something sinister hidden in the past, and we must find it before long..."" |
Have fun! I hope this helps someone out there! (If taken for a project, the name Odion Region may not be used!!!)
