Oh hey! I didn't even notice this was here.

I'm not sure specifically what kind of plotting you're looking for, but some thoughts:

1) Iago will certainly be investigating the attack sites and trying to track the trails back to their source, or at least try to figure out what the attacker(s) is/are. Anybody wanna keep him company? Any admins wanna let me know what he'd find so I can thread it accordingly?

2) I've established that Dr.T spends a fair amount of time watching for and eliminating supernatural threats in the general area of Hart, so getting him involved somehow might make sense. Maybe he runs into some Pack types and nervous hostility ensues?

3) Mitch would make a good victim... he can get mauled pretty massively and still manage to survive, given his power.

4) Amar has a massive anti-Lycan grudge, especially as regards Iago. Just sayin'.

Hey I didn't see it either! Whoops!

* Fergus is about to meet with Iago, I just have to put the thread up for it, in which he will inform him of what the sheriff has told him etc. Following that, there will be a pack meeting thread whereby other pack members can attend and Fergus will issue some warnings regarding the attacks. So keep an eye out for those smile.gif

* Once further attacks are reported he'll likely join his lieutenants and start hunting himself.

* I'd be open for Fergus to meet Dr. T, even if the Doc is just sniffing around at the road house or something if you're keen, JC. smile.gif

* Kieran is available for messing with the lycans if necessary as he dislikes them by nature (they stink).

re: fergus and iago: awesome. I await your thread with bated breath.

re: Fergus to meet Dr. T: I'm always keen for threads, even if I end up oversubscribed. Sure, let's roll these two together. This doesn't need to be related to this plot, even; DrT has been vaguely aware for some years now that there's a Pack around Hart and has been wanting to get in touch with them, size them up, see if they're a threat. If you're willing to have DrT find a trail back to Fergus' roadhouse, that works for me. I'll kick off a thread with DrT showing up there post-Gala (perhaps recently inspired by accounts of a werewolf at the Gala). He can spot Fergus as a lycan by virtue of some spell or another, and we can take it from there. (Yes, I realize this isn't the right place for personal plotting, but sometimes these things just happen.)

re: Kieran... Amar and Kieran could run into each other at one of the attack sites, have some vampire bonding, and agree to join forces to wipe out the Pack and ultimately get their asses handed to them by Fergus, Iago, and the rest of the Pack. Which would subsequently give me an excuse to keep Amar's profile low in Hart, which matches how I want to play him anyway. It would also help clarify the age-old question, "why the hell do all these superpowerful creatures stay hidden all the time?"... namely "because the ones who don't hide get messed up by other superpowerful creatures." If you're interested, go ahead and kick off a thread with Kieran and tag me. (Incidentally, note that Amar and Kieran are very different types of vampires; I've been assuming there are lots of different lineages and they mostly keep their mutual distance. Kieran might have heard of a nest of Amar-type vampires in the Northwest that was destroyed by a Lycan a while back.)

The idea is that - at least for the first half of the arc, no one knows who is doing it. Clues can lend themselves to the Pack, if any of the characters (like the vamps, for example) want to try to frame someone for revenge, retribution, etc. The vamps or other characters could even post an unrelated attack or attack an active character to frame someone else, if desired.

The identity of the actual attacker will be revealed midway through the initial arc and then it will become a game of cat and mouse. A few players may already have a suspicion of who it could be. Up to you guys if you want to know who it is up front or if you want it to be revealed in game. Whatever makes it easier for you to plot and scheme.

Additionally, the Novus Ordo will be investigating, including young Peter with Rob Ryker (had to toss that in there, JC <3 ) - so we'll want to plot out that thread JC.

wink.gif

Additionally, I'll be working with Emma, Jais, JC and whoever else wants to know more both in terms of Pack dynamics and the N.O. Cabal Boys.

We do need someone to NPC victims and perhaps Jais' adoptive father/guardian, the Beta - Joe Mangenello or whatever his name is from Magic Mike/True Blood. I thought about it, but given who I will be NPCing it would be more fun to have someone else handle him for this.

When designing the plot I thought of the movie Jaws. A series of attacks, maybe a body part left as a sole clue. Not all attacks appear in sequence, some can be discovered later(spoiler). Several red herrings in terms of both clues and potential attackers. The motivation behind these is physical as well as psychological.

For Example:

Victim One = The Bear in the Woods North of Town (in or near one of the pack's hunting grounds)
Victim Two = Two nights later, before the full moon, human. Where and who up to you guys. But think in terms of a tightening radius as the investigation continues.

I've got several plotted out but very few are set in stone to better allow you guys to take control and run with this. If you want me to post those ideas let me know. Again, I know who it is doing the deeds, but how we get there is up to you.

Sounds good!

With that in mind...

* The vampires framing the Pack sounds like a whole lot of fun. Kieran, you in? We can take out some customers from Fergus' roadhouse as they go home... :-)

* Peter exploring Ryker -- um, I mean, exploring with Ryker -- sounds like fun. AIM me whenever; we'll plot... and/or just kick off a thread and tag me and we'll see where it goes.

* I'm happy to stay ignorant, but if I know who it is it might be more possible to plot in interesting ways. (E.g., to RP finding clues, etc.) That said, if I know OOC none of my characters will ever figure it out IC, even if they might have otherwise. On balance I would rather know, but I'm fine either way.

* I'm happy to NPC random victims getting mauled/killed/eaten/whatever. Folks, just let me know where you want one and I'll harmonize.

* As noted below, Mitch can be significantly mauled and recover, as long as he doesn't actually die... which would be one way for him to discover that his power is not just a one-time rejuvenation, and give him a cameo on this plot. :-)

Kieran is in. Sounds good re: the rumours about Amar's pack, I'll work on something tonight for the both of them if you like. It makes sense that Amar can easily sneak up on Kieran because of his age too, so feel free to have him stalk him for a while or whatever you'd like to do. smile.gif

EDIT: Pack? Nest. It's early. xD

I can PM you JC with the identity of the attacker if you like, or let you know over AIM, same for anyone else that wants to know.

Figured I'd update my threading thoughts around the site plot, if only to keep it all straight in my own head.

There have been four attacks in Hart which appear to be the work of a Lycan/werewolf:
There was also a werewolf at the Gala (Xander), for anyone who remembers the Gala.

My characters' involvement so far:
  • Amar the Vampire has formed the He-Man-Lycan-Haters club with Kieran here. Their general plan is to find out who all the Pack members are, where they hang out, etc., so they can eventually strike them all at once.
In the meantime Amar will throw chum in the waters whenever the opportunity arises.
  • Amar has identified Xander as a Lycan and is creepily stalking befriending him here. He intends to use Xander as a way of getting info about the Pack.
  • Iago the Pack Captain has been looking into this since the bear mauling. He suspects it's a Pack member. His current lead suspect is Xander's "father," the Pack Beta, but he has no proof and is keeping his mouth shut about his suspicions until he does.
  • As of October 10, Iago has declared the Pack equivalent of martial law: everyone is required to let him know where they're going and especially where they're hunting. Well, except for the Alpha and the Beta, of course, who are his superiors and thus not under his orders.
This has probably not made him many friends within the Pack.
  • Dr.Tomkins the Adventuring Mage made contact with the Alpha shortly after the Gala. He will be investigating the murders as well. (He does that sort of thing.)
He and Iago have run into each other (off-camera) a couple of times and don't really get along.
  • JC knows his roommate Aidan is a werewolf and knows there was a werewolf at the Gala, and can probably put two and two together and figure out that the "animal attacks" in Hart involve werewolves.
Beyond that, he hasn't got a clue.
  • Peter the undercover Cabal agent is evidently going to get involved in some investigation of the case with Ryker (promises, promises).

So, those are my relevant folks and existing threads.
If anyone's up for anything else, drop me a line!

So I should post here as well.

I'll be NPCing Warren Elliot (the Pack Beta) for the time being. I'm honestly thinking of picking him up but for storyline purposes I'm just NPCing him for the time being to keep things moving. If you have any ideas you'd like to throw at him please PM me.

I also have Dylan Newbury whose one of the Novus Ordo. He'll be working with Peter and Rob to try and figure things out. I actually have Dylan working on another murder in when darkness falls. It involves a young waitress murdered by a wolf as she crossed the park late one night.

Jason's given me an overview of what I need to know about the plot so if you need Warren for anything let me know...

Alicia Heller was born in Sacramento, CA in 1970; her parents were both Park Rangers and as a child she spent her summer vacations camping in the California National Park system with them. She loved it. They taught her to track, to shoot a rifle, to survive in the wilderness, and on her sixteenth birthday her parents revealed to her that they had a secret life: they tracked and helped eliminate rogue Lycans, and they invited her to join them on their current hunt.

Benjamin Simons was born in a fishing village in Maine in 1941, a year before his father died fighting the Germans in Europe. He was raised with a profound hatred for the whole enterprise of war, and when his number came up in the Vietnam draft in 1959 he headed north instead, intending to cross the border to Canada. Unfortunately, his car broke down about ten miles outside Millinocket and he was attacked by a wild animal while trying to reach the town. Fortunately, he was found by a pair of local hunters before he died of blood loss and exposure. His recovery afterwards was implausibly fast, and on the night of the next full moon he finally realized why, as did the hunters who'd rescued him. Guilt-ridden, he spent the next twenty-three running more or less purposelessly through northern Canada and the northwestern U.S., staying a few weeks at a time in local towns but leaving before the full moon came. Even so, he had left a trail of bodies behind him, and by the time he found himself in the forests of Washington he had come to the attention of the Hellers.

Over the course of a couple of months the Hellers tracked Ben down, and he was finally caught by one of their traps. Alicia was the one to find him, but when they actually came face to face she decided to let him go. They fell in love, got married in Reno, and after some adventures ended up part of the Hart Pack in 1986. They have lived in Hart ever since. Ben makes his living primarily as a fisherman, a trade he learned as a child. Alicia manages a local R.E.I. They have one child, a fourteen-year-old human girl named Laurie, after Ben's mother. Their family is active in their church and community, and nobody suspects their true nature, though Ben's well-preservedness is starting to draw comment.

Within the Pack, Ben is respected as an Epsilon, one of the oldest living members. Though he and Alicia mostly stayed out of the power-struggle that resulted in Bogan's becoming Alpha in the 90s, they have been quietly supportive of the new power structure ever since. They don't cause trouble, are popular within the Pack, have absolutely no ambition for greater status, and are among its better-integrated into human society members; they have been very helpful with finding jobs, homes, etc. for new Pack members.

That said, it's well known that Ben has had a strained relationship with Captain Santiago since shortly after Iago arrived in Hart, for reasons neither of them are willing to talk about.
