CHAPTER ONE: memory and d e s i r e , stirring What are the roots that clutch, what branches grow Out of this stony rubbish? The Blackwell men have traveled the globe, one in search of knowledge and the other, his son, often seeking adventure. The last place either of them might have expected to find both was on the grounds of a prestigious old school in California. As luck would have it, young Blackwell and his friends happen upon a secret passage that leads them down what appears to be nothing more than the forgotten passage once used by maids and masters to more easily navigate the former chateau. What they find instead both intrigues and chills them. Meanwhile, the elder Blackwell begins to suspect that the school grounds have a story to tell. All old buildings have history, true, but there seems to be more going on here than the occasional faulty wire or knocking sound of plumbing going on at Saint Valentines. His investigations may not lead to the same end result as his son, but then not all knowledge or wisdom is gleaned in obvious ways. Even so, in the case of some, it does have a tendency to find them. For most it can be a place to learn a bit more about your colleagues, simply to relax and pass the time. For others it can be a place to share what you know, or gossip, and in the case of a select few it can be a place where what isn't said can be more significant than what is. Well, here is what I'm thinking from my character's POV...our little group of sophomore delinquents are like, the Dead Poet's Society meets the Marauders. Declan, for one, already has a map of all of the nooks and crannies he and Artemis have found already so, on this fated night, the crew could head out to look at a specific passage they haven't yet explored. My guy's mother is an archeologist...his Paps is an anthropologist, so I see him going into these types of situations with that in mind. He has tools and he has a plan, though I see each character having their own motivations for participating. Anywho, what do you guys think? When the proper time comes, the storyteller and/or a NPC will crash the thread and reveal the plot. In the meantime, however, I could kick the thread off, and get the chapter underway.

I've got Robert here to aid Declan in his journey. I don't have much more to add to the plot as a whole because it seems like what they're getting in to is going to be amazing...xD But I can say that Bobbie's motivation is going to be supporting his friend, yet also just seeing what's down there. In his mind he would be hailing Anna Valentine forever if they found a secret greenhouse or garden underground. xDD But I'm also willing to get this going with Alouette whenever we want. <3

I was thinking that it could be fun if Dylan and someone else were exploring on their own, or even if he was alone and then ran into the others. It would be rather frightening if they kept hearing each other but couldn't find each other immediately. Beyond that I just look forward to writing with everyone.

Teachers should attend where teachers convene, should they not? Mr Benoit will lounge.

You may well need to ignore Swan once you get into the thread. The above should help you with a direction for the thread, from small talk to rumor - specifically Blackwell's interest/inquiries in regard to strange happenings at the school. Depending on the nature of the thread, I will either bring in Swan or another NPC to wrap it with Blackwell. Enjoy the chance to create community among the adults!

I'm a bit busy with school today; I have to do a take home midterm exam, write a paper for a different class, and study for an exam tomorrow for another one. If I get all that done, I might be able to post tonight after everything, but if not I'll just put something up tomorrow.

Andi: I could have Gray text Gael in the messaging forums, like Declan & Grayson have been doing, so he can hop in quicker?

Shane: Since Bobbie is sleeping at Mister Blackwell's, Gray could have invited Dylan to sleep in their dorm... unless they both wanted their rooms to themselves. If the former, he can just wake up Dylan and drag him along. =D

No rush, I just thought it might be good to coordinate our efforts. ^^

I'm about a third of the way through my post, but I need to get in touch with Shane first... so I'll probably post sometime tomorrow.
