-General and Joining
-- There is no limit to the characters you play, but they must all remain active, which means at least one post a week from each. -- After submitting a character, you must wait to be accepted before you post in character. -- When creating a character, you must use everything from our form at least, but you may add whatever you like. -- Do not steal ideas, graphics, or anything else from this site or other members on this site. -- Do not complain to staff or whine to anyone; no one likes a cry baby. -- Then again, do not be a total bitch. We're here to have fun and hone our writing skills, not cyber-argue over a chat box. -- Respect each other; no racism, sexism, homophobia, etc. If you don't agree on it, don't talk about it.
-In Character and Roleplaying Etiquette
-- Do not control other's characters (god-model) or act like your character is all that and then some (power play). -- In character posts have a strict minimum of 400 words. It may seem like a lot, but it really isn't. Anyone can type twice this with a little effort. -- Use spellcheck; if your grammar is truly terrible, we may ask you to practice your writing a bit, then return. We're all here to get better, but we do have a limit. -- Keep it at least a little realistic. Obviously horses do not talk or have a religion in real life, but if there is a stallion that is claiming a lot of mares, do not complain to the player that they're hogging them. It's what a real stallion would do, after all.
-Breeding and Foaling
-- Graphic breeding is allowed, just put a G in the title of the thread. -- Force breeding is allowed as well. -- You will only conceive while breeding during the breeding seasons (winter and spring). However, you may breed whenever you like (as long as you aren't expecting to get pregnant in fall or summer). -- You must wait one real week after breeding to give birth. -- If, by some odd twist of fate, your foal is born in winter or fall, it will die. -- Foal stats are decided by staff members only. If you ask for something, I will not bother to change it to the way you want, so don't bother me. -- After you breed, post the mare's and stallion's stats in the Foal Stats board with the clear title of the thread " (Stallion's name) x (Mare's name) ", and then wait for a staff member to make the stats.-- If you do not get someone to play your foal before it is born, it is considered dead. -- You may not play your own foal. Twisty, eh? I made up this rule for added fun. -- Find someone to play your foal in the Foal Auditions board, and after you find someone to play it, PM a staff member with who is playing your foal so we can add it to the stats. -- Mares and stallions are mature at three. -- Mares and stallions can no longer coneive at the age of twelve.
-Abandoning and Adopting Foals In Character
-- After you give birth, you may only abandon your foal within the first real week of its life. -- Even if you put your foal up for adoption, you must still find someone to play it. -- A foal born to the Lun kingdom (for example) does not have to be adopted by another horse from the Lun kingdom (for example). -- Once foals turn three, they may leave Hevandra's by themselves and begin their life if they were not adopted. -- Only mares may adopt; stallions may adopt if they have a mate, lead mare, etc. to look after the foal for them. -- You must be over four to adopt a foal. -- There is no limit to the number of foals Hevandra can take care of, but you may only adopt five foals in your lifetime.
-Aging, Time, Seasons, and Death
-- One game year is one real month. -- One game season is one real week. -- Horses age a real year every game year. -- Horses die at the game age of 20. -- Once horses die, you may still roleplay them in the death herds, and they may visit live horses on Regal Twilight Hill. -- Dead horses may not breed. -- Ages will be kept track of in your biography where it will be changed by staff every month.
-Fighting In Character
-- If you are challenged to a fight, you must accept. -- Mares may only fight other mares and stallions may only fight other stallions. -- You may fight for the following reasons: land, mares, foals, herd positions, and quests. -- Fights will be judged by a staff member. -- Fights are judged on quality (not quantity) of your post, but the minimum 400 word rule still applies. -- Fights consist of three posts by each person in the fight. -- You may not challenge the same horse to a fight in the same game year.
-Stealing In Character
-- You may steal the following: land, herd positions, mares, foals, and magical abilities. -- To steal, post in character in the stealing grounds announcing what you are stealing. -- The horse that owns the horse or thing you are stealing has a game season to find out and black the steal by posting a reply to your post in character. -- If it is rejected, you may wait one game season, then try again. -- If the horse you are stealing from does not block your steal in one game season, the thing or horse you stole is yours, no questions asked. -- When you steal land, all the horses that live on that land are under your rule, as well, except for the lead mare. -- THERE WILL BE NO DISCUSSION OF STEALS OUTSIDE OF THE STEALING GROUNDS. DO NOT PM IT, EITHER. THAT'S CHEATING. IF SOMEONE INFORMS ME THIS HAS HAPPENED, YOU WILL BE BANNED FOR A WEEK.
-Disasters
-- If a disaster strikes in your herd or band, you may enter the Refuge of Thezra. -- Your herd stays there for one game season. -- While you are within the refuge, you are inpenetrable to steals, fight challenges, etc. -- If you enter the refuge while your herd is not staying there, the gods will punish you. -- The gods will also punish you if you move your herd to stay there when there has been no disaster in your home.
-Healing
-- If you lose a fight you must go be healed. -- You may not breed, be challenged to another fight, steal, or go on a quest until you get healed after losing a fight. -- If you lose a fight and do not get healed for one game year, your horse dies.
-Quests
-- You may go on a quest for the following: getting land of your own, being able to choose one characteristic about your foal, getting to have twins, having your foal live when it's born in winter or fall, making a disaster strike another kingdom or herd, or any magical ability. -- You may not go on a quest to take someone else's land, you may only do that by fighting or stealing. -- The quest giver will give you a quest based on the thing you want. The smaller the thing you desire, the easier the quest, though none are particularly easy. -- If you fail to complete the quest within a game year, the quest is cancelled out, and you must wait another game year before visiting the quest giver again. -- The quest giver can refuse to give you a quest if he feels like it.
-Lands
-- There are three lands within the kingdom that you may claim, unless you go on a quest to get your own land, and then a staff member will create another land in the kingdom of your choice just for you. -- If you belong to a kingdom in which all the land is already claimed and you don't want to go on a quest, you may form a roaming band in Lonely Valley. -- You must post your herd stats in the Herd Stats board once a week with the title " (Herd's name here) Stats ".
-Claiming
-- Only stallions may claim land and mares. -- One land per stallion and one land per player, meaning even if you play three stallions, only one of them may claim a land. -- Only alpha stallions and beta stallions may force claim mares, and only if they belong to a herd that has a lead stallion, lead mare, and beta stallion. -- You do not have to claim mares of your own kingdom. -- To claim land, you must be the first to post in it in character. -- You do not have to force claim; you may ask nicely and get declined even if you are a beta stallion or higher. -- If a mare is force claimed, she has no choice, she must go. -- If a stallion force claims a mare, he may make her a slave if he wants to.
-Canons
-- To play one, post a 400 word audition in character, as the one you are trying out for, in the Canon Auditions board. -- You may decide what they look like in their "mortal form." They are basically spirits. -- They may lead normal lives outside of their jobs, but there are a few catches: they may not claim land or mares, and they may not breed with mortals. However, they can breed with each other.
MORE MAY BE ADDED, SO CHECK BACK IN THE FUTURE.
