EMMANUEL GRANT COX
SO ROCK'N ROLL SO COOPERATE SUIT SO DAMN UGLE SO DAMN CUTE SO WELL TRAINED SO AN ANIMAL SO NEED YOUR LOVE SO FUCK YOU ALL.
welcome to 'bloomfield falls', colleague. i am evan armstrong, dean of this school and the one person who can either make or break you. i am kidding of course; i suppose my humor might have gone unnoticed. it's your age, i don't blame you. bit absorbed in the whole application process, aren't you? of course you are, i know your kind.
in order for us to determine whether you will fit in here or not i am going to ask you a few simple question. if you could just answer them as honestly as possible, that'd be great. before we begin go ahead and make yourself comfortable. what the hell? don't touch those tiny pretzels, they are the last I've got! I AM NOT AFRAID OF DYING I JUST DON'T WANT TO. so, it's just you and i in my little office. do you like it? i picked the curtains out myself. anyway, i am me and you are but what exactly does that mean? why are you here? "Sorry about the pretzels. Also, yes. Very lovely interior. Now... Well, you see, I've always had a fascnation with teaching. I have a bachelors for it, until I then decided to veer off for medical. Teaching was always my plot in life, but I kept is set aside until the right time. Now seemed just as good as any. I worked in the medical field for a bit, contending at a hospital, and I feel like I can bring a lot to the student here. They look like a eager, lively bunch."nope, not impressed. not in the slightest. but the interview has only just started; don't worry.. there are only about 200 others wanting this spot as badly as you. if i called you by any other name, would that make you more comfortable? "Emmanuel. Just that, please. If you can't remember that, just call me by last name."it has a ring to it, i give you that. now that we are practically acquainted, tell me a little bit more about yourself. personal things you hoped i wouldn't ask. "I'm thirty-three. I was born in Glasglow, Scotland July twenty-seventh, nineteen seventy-six, and was born a female. ...No, no, I'm kidding. I was born male as could be. I don't know really what to think of my sexuality at this point, so let's just say I'll do anything once. I'm still young."wow i am still awake, i’m surprised, really. you talk a little bit like you've swallowed a stick or you've been screaming your lungs out at a concert, all night. speaking of that, what do you like to do when you're not at work?"Ah, when I have a bit of time on my hands, I'll usually go read or take the dog for a walk. Maybe see to the gym. If I'm lonely or bored enough, I'll hit up the lads and we'll go for a pint and relax, give a bit of chat. I enjoy bird watching, and walking. It's quite good for the body system, walking. I'll take some time to sit in front of the telly and see what's on, until I get bored or tired of being lazy and I'll find something productive to do. I cook quite a bit, and comedy is one of my favored things to attend or simply watch. Outside of a personal life, I like when student comes for help with their work. That way I know their learning what I teach them, and that way I can help them. Or when a student willing raises their hand to answer a question. There will be those types of classes, then not those type of classes. I get a small kick out of them laughing at everything they find funny that we learn, but it's serious stuff."and you’re still alive? you must have some pretty good insurance or a nifty lawyer, eh? i love it, i am a bit of a risk taker myself. now that you got my attention again, tell me about all the things you avoid in life."Kids disrupting my class. I will not stand for it. If I see it happen, they'll get a fair warning and if they do it again, they can go have a chat with you about the wonders of being quiet. I don't take kindly to abuse either, so if I see it from kids, they'll be sure to be sent down to you, too. I don't like medical shows. After being a doctor myself, I never really find that half the things they do bring justice to the reality of it. It's like CSI. Half the equipment they have on there is fake and the time isn't that short to find a suspect. It takes weeks, I hear. I mean, sure, it's just a television show, but you'd think for the sake of all the hard working people who actually do do that job, they'd include some real quality. I dislike snakes, by the way.."now that i know a little bit more about your precious self, go on and humor me some more. what kind of person are you, really? you know.. like when no one is watching or in general; i am not picky."I see myself as a very open minded person. I'm not closed off to a lot of things, though some, and that makes good for getting to know people. I speak my mind, which can be a little harsh sometimes, but I tone it down for the kids. I've been told I have a really dry humor sense, in that bitter but amusing way? I don't know. I'm a little sheltered about portions of my life, due granted, but I don't let it get me down or stop me from participating in things I enjoy. I can be strict if I'm not being listened to, and I'll make sure I am heard. I will not be undermimed by a student, and I'm quick to put them in their place during a class session. Under it all, really, I'm a bit of a dork. I bowl, and enjoy doing, and therefore, dork."hmm, you sure as hell are not afraid to point out your flaws, are you? that could either mean you are smart and know not to piss me off by not answering my questions or you’re just plain dumb and don't even know that i am watching your every move. kidding, again. did you catch it this time? was it funny?"...Mhm. Hilarious. Techincally, it's your job to be watching my every move, isn't it?"that was good! that was really good. i am starting to like you. but let's say i had never seen you before and needed to pick you out in the staff room; how would i recognize you?"I'd be the loudest, I assure you of that. But to humor you, I'm six-two, one hundred and eighty pounds, and I have short kept, brown hair that I've been told bring out the blue in my eyes. Depending on the day, I could be found wearing glasses. They're thick rimmed and squareish. I'm quite lithe and hard boned, as my wife would say, and a tanish pigment. I could've narrowed down plenty of teachers, but I think it's pretty identifiable."well, i can tell looks are not your strong point. but what is?"I have a very strong mind. You have to have one for my previous job. You got to know when to not bring it home with you, and when to. I'm highly responsible, as a prior doctor, and as a care giver to my canine companion. Organization helps with the teacing position, and I have a strong will to not let my students get out of hand. That's the last thing I, or anyone else, wants."blimey! you could have fooled me. let me make a note of that. hold on just one second, will you? okay, i am good. continue."I admit, I'm a chocolate fiend. I let myself be bribed with it. I have a soft spot for impulsions, no matter where I am: shopping, pet store, school, whatever. I can be a bit quick to jump the shark, and a little rude with my humor, but I never intentionally mean harm. Outside of a school environment, I've been known to say something without consequence of what would later come."woah. interesting. does your family know about all that? you do have a family, don't you? or maybe you're even married with children? family is such a nice thing."My parents are Ewan and Morgana Cox, whom now live in Miami down in America. I was first born to my sister, Grace Cox. She's five years younger than me. She married back when she was twenty-three, to a nice lad named Wilhelm, and they now have two children; Lucy and Jude, wom are both very sick children. Lucy has a mild bone cancer, which takes a toll on her wee body, and Jude was born premature with poor lungs. He's better now, back home with his mummy, but Lucy has to stay in the hospital a while longer. I was married to a woman named Elizabeth, but unfortunately, she grew gravely ill and passed away. From that marriage, I kept our dog, Harris."oops. sorry about that, i must have dozed off. i am sure you were great in.. what were we talking about? oh what the heck.. tell me how you got here, and don't say by car. i mean, tell me about your life."Do you ever notice how when you get older you hardly remember your younger years? As another year dawns, you lose a past one, until it's barely there. That's how I feel. I can define small details, like how I was spoiled rotten as a wee babe and my sister looked up to me as though I was mighty myself. We lived a quiet childhood in the hills of Glasglow, growing up with culture and the respect of elders embedded within our heads. Our parents always kept something around us... a pet of somesort so we could learn the wonders of responsibility easier. Sure, that came with homework, but you always needed hands on. We were constant in each others lives, Grace and I. I would watch out for her, and in return she'd do the same. It wasn't hard to find us together. We were perfect as siblings. We completed each other.
Years past and school did too. Some wins, some losses. Nothing before this matters, really. When I was in college, I met her. I was nineteen and she was eighteen, but we were struck. Elizabeth was taking photography. She loved art. She breathed it. She was talented in all forms, but photography was her best. She could capture the soul of a single thing with just one dainty click of her old camera. After I earned my bacelors for teaching and medical sciences, and she earned her teaching, we decided that we were perfect. I was twenty-five when we married, and we couldn't've been happier. We bought a small house in Dublin, Ireland, and attended work there. God. She was one. It was almost perfect, the way we fit. Sorry. I'm rambling a bit.
Anyway. I was chief of staff at the hospital I attended, and four years after we got married... she got sick. Quickly. It swept over her. Consumed her. Luekimea. It wasn't meant to last. She died a month later. It was a rough time. I took a few months leave, but returned to work. I quit last year, because it just became too sore of a reminder. I fell back on what I always intended to do: teaching. It was what she did. She taught kindergardens, however. She always wanted a kid. I moved back here, to Scotland, three months ago and I've gotten myself settled. I look forward to teaching at Bloomfield."ever considered writing a book? i think it would sell. we should talk about it some time later. anyway, yep, i think you'd fit in just fine. but where exactly do you think you'd belong?"I'm a felxible kinda guy, but honeslty I see myself more in the hands on things. Like Phys Ed, and I have a Masters in Biology and Sciences so if that's any good, I can handle Science courses."once your background check is completed and i set you free what will you do? anything you are looking forward to?"Start an apocolypse.."okay.. uhm.. maybe i made a mistake by hiring you, after all?"... I'm kidding, sir."don't get so wound up, i was kidding. anyway, as fun as it was to talk to you and all that .. uhm.. i have places to go and people to see. we'll meet again, eh? i'll have my eyes on you."Aha. Righto, then. You've been a wonderful audience, really. See you."
Meet "jobo" she's been plotting since "age [sixteen]" she's also the puppet master of "grey danvers and bianca d'autry" but you can all me "mr. dr. iamwhatiam ``"
