Seth is all arms and legs still, he prefers comfortable cloths though, jeans and a tee shirt being his preferred state of dress. He doesn’t particularly care about what’s in style, just as long as it looks alright on him and he’s covered then he’s cool. Formal cloths make him uncomfortable though, uniforms, such as his BFA uni also have the same effect. we'll end this tragedy todayHISTORYHISTORYHISTORYHISTORYHISTORY(FATHER)
Adrian Alfonse Ericks, 48, Banking President(MOTHER)
Emila Brenda Ericks, 45, Homemaker (SIBLINGS)
Kathryn Elise Ericks, 24 (DECEASED)(OTHER NOTABLE FAMILY MEMBERS)
Seth’s story, like most peoples, starts with his parents. Adrian came from a wealthy family, Stanford Business Degree and all. Emila had been a struggling artist when the two had met. They soon feel in love and married, only six months after first meeting. Emila gave birth to their first daughter, Kathryn, two years later in 1980. Emila devoted her life to raising her daughter, and dearly wanted more children but her and Adrian had drifted apart, their love and thus marriage having fizzled out after the first year. It wasn’t until eleven years later that Seth was born. Adrian never had much to do with either of his children, being more in love with his job then his family so Emila spent all her time with her two children when she could, developing close bonds with both of them.
Kathyrn was a shy and precocious child, living in her own world of books and quiet fantasies. Seth was completely different. He was loud, outgoing and a happy child, he was hyperactive and full of energy. Although Emila found him to be a chore sometimes she never the less adored her beautiful boy. As he grew older he also proved to be just as bright as his bookish sister, and despite being so different, he and Kat were very close. At many times it seemed like Seth’s family was only a family of three. His father having little to no patience with his young son, often snapping at him for his overenthusaism. Seth, being the sensitive boy he was, often felt incredibly hurt over this. He could never understand his father’s ambivalence towards him. Something that has persisted to this day.
Seth rapidly approached his teens and it seemed that he would become one of those rare children who become the adoration of all, teachers and fellow students. He was kind and cheerful and he had many, many friends. His good nature and obvious intelligence assured that he would have little trouble at school and in fact he didn’t. He loved being around all those people around his own age and he found himself in his element, being a social animal. He had many good friends but only one close one, as he neared puberty he began to realize that, while he enjoyed talking with and hanging out with members of the opposite sex, he didn’t look at them in the same light as his other male friends. He quickly realized that he was attracted to his Best Friend Tom, being the uncomplicated free spirit he wasted no time in telling him. Tom, for his part, was a little taken aback but he had always had a little bit of a crush on Seth. They sealed their relationship with a light kiss, their first. Tom and Seth’s relationship was a rather innocent one, Seth wasn’t interested in pure sex like most boys, he just liked Tom and knew that he liked it when Tom hugged him close and kissed him. They might have began to explore more but tragedy struck soon after Seth turned thirteen.
All he can remember of that night is his mom crying and holding him. He was scared about why and he kept asking her but all she could do was cry. Finally, she managed to choke out the words. His sister Kathryn had been in an accident , a bad one. She had died instantly and with little pain. Seth was devastated. He’d been very close to his older sister and he didn’t understand how she could die like that. One minute she was there…the next she was just…gone. Seth only made it through those few weeks because of Tom. Tom fought hard to help Seth out of his deep depression, he was always there, holding him while he cried softly and making sure he ate. The darkest parts of the year were her birthday and Christmas, Seth would always sink into a mild depression around those times of the year, but he managed to bounce back and return to his happy, free spirited self.
Sweet Sixteen came and went, Seth was happy, Tom managing to keep him from sinking down into despair and became his constant companion, Emila even allowed Tom to come into the house whenever he wanted to be with Seth, despite Adrian’s protests. Seth was definitely a popular kid, but not just with the in crowed, he was on good terms and friendly with everyone in the school, his gregarious and charming attitude winning over almost everyone. He had hoped and felt that he’d put the worst behind him with this sisters death, but tragedy would strike again, stealing away someone else he loved dearly. Reggie was one of those poor individuals who had been dealt bad cards, his dad loved the sauce and his mom just couldn’t find it in herself to care about anything. At school, he found no reprieve, accept for the few kind words from Seth and Tom on occasion and the worried teachers. They weren’t enough though. Reggie snapped one day and brought his dad’s colt revolver, he was going to end the persecution, one way or another and he was going to punish the jocks who’d made his life a living hell. It was a spring day, and lunch had just began, Seth and Tom lay on the grass under one of the trees near the lunch tables. Seth’s head resting on Tom’s lap as he dozed, the night before having been tinged with nightmares. Tom saw Reggie first, the body language giving his intention away almost instantly, thankfully, Reggie had to wait a few minutes to work up his courage, just enough time for Seth, against Tom’s wishes and pleas to walk over to him. Just as Seth reached the young man he pulled his gun. Tom who had been following Seth anxiously reached him first and grabbed his arm, Reggie, fueled by adrenaline, turned quickly, freed his gun and wrapped Tom in his free arm while resting the muzzle of the gun against his temple. Seth tried to talk Reggie out of it, urging him not to do it, to get help and, for a few seconds it seemed like it was working. He let Tom go…the confusion of the next few minutes would define that day for the rest of the Schools existence. Reggie moved to toss the gun down but he made the mistake of bringing it around, as if he was pointing at Seth, Tom reacted and grabbed his arm again, unthinking, he pulled the gunman’s arm towards him, Reggie instinctually pulled the trigger. A bullet burying itself in Tom’s body.
Seth didn’t cry when he held Tom’s head in his lap as the paramedics came. He didn’t cry as Toms mother and his sat beside him in the hospital, his boyfriends blood spattered over his pants and shirts. He didn’t cry when the Doctor told them that they had done everything they could do but in the end…Tom’s wound was just to severe. He didn’t cry during the funeral…he didn’t cry until he sat in Tom’s room…surrounded by so many good memories. It just didn’t strike him until that point that he’d never ever see Tommy again. After that it seemed like he couldn’t stop crying. It must have been a month before he came back to school. After that he just wasn’t the same. He no longer was the vivacious, chipper and friendly boy that everyone loved. He no longer smiled when he got to school, he didn’t speak accept when spoken too. This continued on past his seventeenth birthday and at one point it seemed like he was never going to be the same. He’d make a weekly pilgrimage to Tom’s house and spend hours, just laying on Tom’s bed. Tommy’s mom didn’t have the heart or desire to stop it. She was just as heartbroken as Seth. Shortly after what would have been Tom’s seventeenth, his mom found a folder while she was tidying up Tom’s room. It wasn’t that Seth made a mess, in fact he only ever touched the bed, but it was a habit she had, and it made her feel like her son was still around. The folder, was hidden under Tom’s bed, and for a second she almost put it back before opening it. She had always known her son was a talented artist, not just with pencil and paper but also with the written word. She found pages upon pages of sketches, drawings, songs and poem, all about and of Seth. The next week when Seth arrived, he found the folder on top of Tom’s bed. Carefully he picked it up and gingerly opened it. Seth’s stay was longer that night, much longer and by the time he was ready to leave, Tom’s mom had told him to take the folder, Tom would have wanted him to have it.
Everyone from then on noticed an improvement in Seth, it was small and slow but with each day a little bit more life came back to him until finally, he a few days before summer break was due to start he was back to his normal self. No one questioned it, they were just glad that he was back, although he wouldn’t stick around for long. He informed everyone at his school that he wouldn’t be returning for his senior year. He wanted to get away from San Francisco. He’d applied to a school in the UK called Bloomfield Academy. our time to shine beyond the pavementPERSONALITYPERSONALITYPERSONALITY(LIKES)

Seth has far to many odd quirks and eccentricities to list. He’s not normal by any definition of the word. (PERSONALITY)
Seth is a very friendly guy. He goes out of his way to meet new people and likes to include others who are normally shunned. He easily makes friends with new people and he’s genuinely interested in hearing about everyone. A lot of people are surprised to find out that Seth’s just a genuine person. He doesn’t let himself be held back by what’s expected of him to say, he speaks what’s on his mind, but never anything hurtful or mean, he likes to see the best in everyone. He especially doesn’t like to see people sad and he likes to comfort them and make them happy.
Seth can be described as a big puppy dog, in both looks and attitude. He’s gangly with huge feet and hands and he’s a little clumsy at times. He has big soulful eyes and that somewhat long wavy hair. When he listens he sometimes even cocks his head like a puppy and you can almost see the ears raising as he listens. He’s very goofy and fun to be around, often wearing his infectious smile and ready with a laugh. He’s always full of energy, probably because he packs food away like nothing, he was obviously blessed with a fast metabolism and he likes to keep active, not one to really sit still for long unless he has something preoccupying his mind. He could have easily become a jock but he’s just not competitive at all, always more interested in having fun then winning anything, much to his father’s annoyance.
Speaking of his father, they don’t get along well. It’s not for lack of trying on Seth’s part. He’s always tried to get close to his father, but he was always to loud, to active or just to annoying for his fathers taste. He doesn’t speak to his son, which hurts Seth terribly. He also misses two of the most important people in his life, his sister Kathryn and his Boyfriend Tom. With both of their deaths Seth’s become convinced that everyone he loves will leave him eventually. The contrast to his bright and sunny personality is that when he gets depressed or sad he feels it hard. Since his sister died he’s entered a cycle, one that was kept very limited and contained by Tom, but since Tom’s death his cycle has become erratic. He now has days where he’s happy and chipper and days where he’s just a zombie, if he even gets out of bed at all. Although, with the help of Tom’s folder he can usually muster a smile.
In the romance department Seth’s an unselfish and enthusiastic partner, although he’s never had sex he still loves to cuddle and kiss and just be intimate with a person he’s with, he’s very open with everyone, especially romantic partners, sharing his feelings easily and freely. When it comes to sex he’s not afraid of it, he just wants it to be special. He’s not in any big rush to have it either. Don’t let it fool you into thinking that he’s not as perverted as everyone else when it comes to naughty thoughts, Seth thinks about Sex as much as any normal teenage boy. He just has more restraint.
