"The King is dead. Long live the King!" Under King Richard, Loegria has grown to become a powerful and prosperous country, far more technologically advanced than it's neighbors. But Richard is dead now, childless, leaving only his younger brother to rule.
King John, however, is not the leader his brother was. His concerns are more for himself and his own comfort than for those of his people. Taxes have gone up in order to fund the King's own pet projects. John is not the military leader or diplomat his brother was either, and with war with Nóregr becoming an all too real possibility the people are becoming frightened. Some would merely call John inept, but there are others who would go so far as to say "tyrant."
Some of these people have been coming together. A group of outlaws hides in Sherwood forest calling themselves the "Merry Men." They are led by a man who calls himself Robin Hood, who's true identity remains hidden behind a cloak and mask.
Magic in Loegria isn't as well studied as it is in the surrounding kingdoms, as for the past few hundred years it has been "sleeping" while new technologies have been invented. Incidents have begun happening though, strange, unexplainable incidents. The sort of things people don't talk about for fear that the wild, unpredictable world of magic that has been asleep for so long may be waking up. The dragons have been seen flying in the mountains once more.
There are whispers. Some say that the old King's death and the birth of this new magic are no coincidence. Some believe King John has been interfering in things not meant to be interfered in. But this is only speculation...isn't it?
