Welcome
Black Thorn Academy
Riverstone, a small town in Western Europe, was once a ghost town.
Until a young lady with a dream, breathed life into this place. Where there was once ruin now stood buildings. Where there was no one, now stood a bustling city.
However, with the good comes the bad. And even though metakind once again has its sanctuary, there are outside forces that wish to destroy us.
Some students will rise up to defend against the threats, while others will form their own rebellious plans.
Will you be a hero? Or a villain?

Leighton made her way through the second floor. She went up to her room to grab her bag, in case she needed to carry more books than she could hold (which was bound to happen). She also felt cold inside the Lounge, so in case the library was the same, she changed into skinny jeans and a grey pea coat. After accidentally checking a few wrong doors, she found a large wooden door. "This must be it..." she said to herself.
Pushing open the door, her eyes widened from what she saw. Falling to her knees, she gazed upon the library before her. It was a perfect lounge area surrounded by a multitude of manuscripts, a library of lexicons. Billions of books. It was built in the same style her father's was, and old English style, and in fact, entering this library made her feel the same way she did when she first entered her father's.
After slowly rising to her feet, she quickly put her bag onto a couch then made her way to the nearest shelf and began browsing. She had almost forgotten that Evelyn was to join her. Luckily she didn't, and made sure to put her things down in an area with two couches, right across from each other and a little tea table in the middle.

Evelyn wandered back from her trip to the kitchens. Her bag was full of goodies, thanks to the considerate and caring kitchen staff. She held to to-go cups: one with tea for Leighton, and one with hot cider for herself. It was that time of year. She smiled as she entered the library and nodded her head towards Connor, who was sitting at his desk with his feet up as he, no doubt, surfed the web on his computer.
He was one of the loudest people she knew and she still didn't understand him being the librarian.
She saw Leighton and smiled as she walked over. She handed the girl her cup. "Here you go," she said. "I see you found the place. Isn't it amazing?"
She sat in the seat across from the one that held Leighton's stuff and dropped her bag on the table. She reached in a pulled out a large, zip-lock bag filled with muffins.
"Courtesy of the wonderful kitchen staff!"

Leighton stared into the spines of the books unwilling to take her eyes of them. When Evelyn came, she almost didn't react. Mentally, she had to peel herself away from the books to turn around. "Oh...yes...um, thank you." She grasped her tea and sipped it. Not as good without the lemon and milk, but it would have to do. She didn't expect Evelyn to make the best tea in the world though. In due time.... She, smiling and taking another sip of her tea.
Pulling a book of the shelf, Leigh sat down across from Evelyn. Taking another sip of her tea, and indulging herself in a muffin. "Mmmm..." She finished swallowing her bite. "Not quite as good as a scone. But still quite delicious, I'll give you that." She smiled before turning to the first page of her book.

Evelyn trully did love the kitchen staff.
"We have some amazing chefs here!" she gushed, relaxing in her armchair after selecting a muffin for herself. She looked around the Library. She hadn't really had a chance to fully appreciate it yet and she took the time to do so now. She took a careful sip of her cider and practically melted. Heavenly.
"So Leighton," she said. "I may or may not have asked you this already, but what are you looking forward to the most at BTA?"
Evelyn knew it was a loaded question, but she really wanted to get to know her possible new friend.

Leighton listened to Evelyn and read at the same time, a skill she had developed at a young age. Nodding to her comment about chefs, Leigh took another bite of her muffin in agreement.
Then Evelyn's question hit her. Pondering a moment, Leighton realized that the question had a lot to do with why she was at the Academy. And that led to something else, which then would lead to something else. It was almost as if to answer her friend's one question, she would have to unravel her entire life story. She had quickly come to the conclusion that anything relating to her being a meta related to her entire life. It wasn't simply a chapter of her existence that she could ignore. However, Evelyn needed an answer, and Leighton had been able to choose one that was honest and fitting.
"Honestly," she spoke, lowering her head. "I'm looking forward to being told that I have enough control over my powers and that I can return home."
It almost hurt for her to say that, especially to someone that she was just forming a friendly relationship with. But it was true. It seemed like ages since she had seen her parents.
