Naomi has been able to turn in to an eagle since she was very young. This ability allows her to also travel through the veil in to the spirit realm. However, she is not strong enough to stay in the spirit world for more than a moment, without fear of losing herself.
Naomi is slowly becoming able to see the spirit realm while in her human form and her ability to travel is becoming stronger.
Potentially, Naomi could use her abilities to chauffeur spirits, both alive and dead, through the spirit realm. She could also potentially summon spirits through the veil.

Birthplace: Mt. Pleasant, Michigan
Marital Status: Single but I'm always up for a new adventure.
Children: And give up my dancing career? Save your breath.
Dancing: I worked as an exotic dancer through high school in order to help support my family. I told my mom I got the money by working in the walmart two towns over. I lied about my age so that I would be hired. Oh… I forgot to mention… I actually liked my job. The lights, the attention, I loved it all.
Resentment: I hate my father for dying and leaving us poor and alone. And I hate him even more for never coming to me.
Burlesque: I was fired from the club when I was seventeen because they found out I lied about my age. A few weeks later I found out from a friend that there was a burlesque troupe coming through and that one of their dancers had gotten hurt. They were offering a pretty penny to anyone that could perform her number. I tried out and got the part. After the show the theater director loved me so much that he decided he wanted to have a permanent burlesque show featured in his theater. I was given a job instantly. I have yet to tell my mother because she would think it was a disgrace.
Control: I want to gain full control of my powers so that I can call back my father.
A nice home: I want to buy my mother a nice house someday. Get her out of the hell hole we live in now. She deserves something good after years of shepherding souls beyond the veil without monetary compensation.
Money: Make enough money to live comfortably and not have to worry about where my next meal will come from.
Spirit: Find some religion or spiritual path that’ll actually help me and that I like. Oh and it wouldn’t hurt if it made sense as well.
Theater: Own a theater.
Brief Overall History:
“I’ve had a boring life. I was born in Michigan with my whole family present. It was a joyous occasion even though my family barely had enough money to take care of themselves before I came along. They were barely getting by when I came along.
My poppa was a meta, he turned in to an eagle, he was also a great, loving man. My momma is meta as well, she spoke to dead people and could travel the spirit realm in her dreams. They were a great couple. Unfortunately when I was ten years old they got in to a really bad argument. They got so mad at each other that poppa left. He just walked out of the house. The next morning a cop showed up on our step. Poppa got in to an accident. My mother was so beside herself. She screamed and cried for weeks. At the funeral she threw herself on his coffin. It was a very traumatizing time. After that it was just me and her.
I learned the major part of my power that year. I had been able to change in to an eagle since I was almost five years old but after he died I learned about my other power.
I was out flying, trying to get away from my mother who was screaming on the shoulder of my crying aunt. It was kinda like I went in to a trance… I don’t know how to describe it, but all of a sudden it was like I was in a completely different world. Anyway, after I managed to pull myself out of there I went straight home and told my mother. She was overjoyed for like two point five seconds, and then she remembered she was mourning. I talked to my grandma and she started teaching me more about my gift.
By the time I was in high school I was being invited to every funeral in the area. I was the freak of my class, everyone avoided me. Around this time things started getting really hard. Mom lost her job and it was getting really hard to pay the bills. So I did the only thing I could. I slapped on a shit load of makeup, faked my age, and became an exotic dancer.
I stayed in school, of course, and tried really hard to keep my grades up. I dropped down to a C plus average but my mother didn’t notice, she’d managed to get three really shitty jobs that still didn’t pay enough. I just told her I was working in the walmart two towns over and she was too tired to argue.
My high school years passed by uneventfully; no boyfriends, no girlfriends, no friends. I got my first tattoo when I was seventeen. In exchange for dancing at his friend’s bachelor party the guy tattooed my back.
He was a meta, his ability was tattooing, he could tattoo anything and could program the tattoo to move however you wanted. He tattooed the silhouette of a woman on my lower back that would writhe and dance along my skin the same way I did on stage and would turn in to an eagle with outstretched wings when I was off stage. It’s a beautiful piece of work that would’ve otherwise cost me an arm and a leg.
My second tattoo I got after a day of celebration. I was more than a little drunk so me and my friend went out and got matching tattoos, a star collar along our neckline to symbolize rising to fame... someday. When I came home my mother beat the living shit out of me for it so the next day I went out and got another one; three interlinked hearts on my wrist depicting three gender symbols to symbolize my sexuality, well, partially… I went with the bisexual symbol because I don’t think I can fit every gender symbol on my wrist.
She was so angry I thought she was going to have a heart attack. By that time I had started my job at the theater but my mom had heard of my other… performances, and was so mad she decided I need to straighten up. So she contacted some people and sent me packing to Black Thorn Academy in hopes that I would learn something and stay out of trouble.
Of course, before I left I paid a visit to my tattoo artist and got a small butterfly next to my eye to symbolize the new changes in my life as well as my powers.
Well… Truth is I’ve been studying my powers with my grandmother since my father died so part of me really doubts that these people are going to be able to help me. But I might as well try, for my momma at least.
All in all I need to even out these tattoos with something on the right side soooo I’ll be looking for a new artist.”
