On the eve of the Boston Red Sox world Series back up catcher Ivan "Pudge" Rodriguez has officially announced his retirement, he said it was a blessing to have an opportunity to go out as a Champion.

Big Papi To Retire
David Ortiz's contract expired today, and he announced he will retire as a Boston Red Sox. Boston instantly announced that his number will be retired as well.
