Back Alley Strays
Irredeemable Passion - Shaded Lust - Season; Mid Summer - Vote for us Here
IMPORTANT - 8/6/06: Recently, as many of you have noticed, it's been increasingly slow around here in the administration area. We've been running short on time and energy recently, and thus have decided (or Woovis has, rather) to close the borders COMPLETELY and indefinately. Obviously we're still accepting members- but you will submit your application, be accepted (or not), and then roleplay as if your character has BRIEFLY met with a higher ranking dog who has accepted them into the pack. Stay tuned.

General - 7/24/06: As some of you may know, two of our admins (Payton [Shayla] and Mack [Malone]) are at camp until Thursday. Thus, all will be run by Woovis [Trillian]! So border posts may be mighty slow, but be patient with us. Also, with her new dictatorial powers, Woovis has added a new forum, The Mailbox. Check it out. Lastly, post counts will no longer be upped by posting in OOC forums. Those who joined before this change get a bit of a boost, ha.

Photobucket - Video and Image Hosting Central Park
Central Park is a familiar park that's nestled comfortably in the midst of traffic and skyscrapers, it's a nice way to get away from everything, trees dot the park, and you can often find small children playing in the morning, but strays (and humans alike) should be hesitant to enter at night - who knows what trouble you could get into. It's a beautiful park, a very large park, as well, and if a stray is a bit weary or over come by the traffic and noise, it's a peaceful place to relax, or to just meet up with some other strays. Careful for the dog-catcher and dog-lovers, though, they might try to snatch you up and take you home if they see you in Central Park!

Photobucket - Video and Image Hosting Metro Station
Ah, the beloved Metro, practically one of the most popular ways to get around the city! It's a much easier way to get around instead of complicated busses, the killer traffic, and expensive taxis - plus, let's face it, not many humans like to walk. So, there's this underground station that runs through the city. Stairs lead down to it, and can provide some nice shelter, concrete, kind of cold, but shelter, nonetheless. It's extremely busy and loud, though - so dogs, be careful! If you want to get to one place to the other, you can try your hand at hopping on, but don't be surprised when the metro stops, and people start screaming, and/or throwing items at you. And please, for god's sakes, don't jump out in front of the trains. There have been nasty mistakes like that made in the past. Poor Mister Giggles.

Photobucket - Video and Image Hosting Anthony's Diner
Anthony's Diner has just about everything on the menu. In fact, it's not even really a diner, it's a huge resturaunt that's extremely popular but relatively cheap. Go around back, and you'll get all the latest food. From spaghetti to pizza to burgers and ice cream, whatever! Marge - wife of Anthony - has sympathy on the dogs, and so she leaves all the leftovers (sometimes even the good food!) out on the back step when she sees dogs pass by often. If you're not lucky to get Marge's love, then you can always stop by the dumpster around back too. Don't run into Anthony, though. Ever since he got bitten by a chihuahua back in '89, he's never been the same.

Photobucket - Video and Image Hosting Parisa Beach
Parisa means "angelic" in Persian. This beach seems to be just that, on the outskirts of the large city, it seems to be a completely different world than the metal buildings and machines and technology that make up the city. It has white sandy shores, and the ocean is a beautiful green-blue. It's pretty romantic, although, it can be very lonely as well. Not many people venture here, it's mainly the strays that come across it, but all the humans don't know that it's there. Occasionally, one might stumble across it, but for now, it's abandoned. Untouched besides the pawprints that line the shore.

Photobucket - Video and Image Hosting Larisa Boardwalk
Larisa Boardwalk looks over the more popular beach underneath (Larisa Beach), and it has an amazing view of the ocean. Humans take their sweethearts here for dates, or they just come here for the fun of it. Look out, though! There are many bikes that will ride past, and humans that are rolling past on skates, you'll have to be careful and dodge more traffic! At night, it's not as crowded at all, but there might be a random drunk that comes past. Don't linger for too long, though. Who knows who could try to drag you back home.

Photobucket - Video and Image Hosting Time Square
Time Square - what an interesting place! Settled between the hustle and bustle of the city, you'll definitely have to watch yourself around here. Humans won't notice a dog running around between their legs, and you'll probably get trampled if you're not careful! It's beautiful at night, though, all lit up, with the skyscrapers surrounding it. The lights seem to be more like the stars of the city. Time Square has millions of them, lights everywhere for the world to see. It's an incredible sight.

Photobucket - Video and Image Hosting Alleys
The alleys that make up the city are very complex, they're like their own little world. Some of them are warm and inviting, others cold and damp and cruel. The warm and inviting ones are rare, and you'll be lucky if you find one. The strays linger here the most often, in the alleys, behind the buildings, be careful not to stumble upon a pack's territory, or you'll find yourself into trouble, but the alleys are practically home for the strays. They make their own make-shift shelters out of trash laying around, and that's their home. You're lucky if you survive winter.

Photobucket - Video and Image Hosting Silas Market
Silas Market is, well, a market. Full of vendors, trying to sell their items. It's on the outskirts of the city, but there are still buildings every which way you turn and it's consumed at least a few blocks of the city. Everything from food to toys to stolen goods, you name it, it's being sold. Strays can find themselves a good meal here, if they're sneaky and quick enough. If not, then you'll find yourself getting something thrown at you! It's a nice place to sleep sometimes, too, underneath their booths and whatnot. The vendors don't appreciate it much, but ah, well. Markets.

Photobucket - Video and Image Hosting Valeska Junkyard
Valeska Junkyard is a place where humans put their useless junk. It's just outside of the hustle and bustle of the city, hidden behind a few run-down buildings and alleys. For strays, it's many things. A place where you can find amazing things to use, old mattresses, it can also be a shelter for the night. But, for the most part, you don't want to mess around with it. It's a place were dogs go to fight their battles, to kill, for you name it - mates, ranks, food.. it's a warzone here. You'll need a couple of judges for fights, but mainly it's just whoever dies first or gives up. Valeska means 'glorious' in Slavic. You'll be pretty bloody in your glory, but it's a respectable thing to win a fight here.
