Angelic and Demonic species are a newly added addition to ATROCITY.,The Angels and Demons here on Atrocity are not any being mentioned in any religious text or prayers, these are a form of custom species with a little information drawn from the mythos of many, many different stories and myths.

Angels are beings from a different realm, not that of Earth or any plane that the mortal being can see, visit of even comprehend. Demons are much the same, in their own plane of existence, they are two separate sides too a war that has stretched on and on from the beginning of time. The war over the 'Golden City', humans refer to it as Heaven, Hell, and many other names. The differences between Angels and Demons is very...very subtle. They are both extremely powerful entities, far beyond that of a human and even a lycanthrope or vampire, however on this plane....they are also limited, and bound unless certain parameters are met. Those are difficult to accomplish however, so many are still vulnerable to many forms of damage and magics. Angels and Demons alike have a 'true' form that they can take on the material realm. Angels are glowing creatures with a multitude of colors their eyes can glow, with wings that span double or triple their own body size. Demons can take....any number of forms, usually do to preference or desire.

Angels
There are a few different kinds of angels and types of angels that can be accepted here on ATROCITY. Below I will list their powers, abilities, types, all the information needed to play one properly.

Angels that are present on our Material realm, are not 'True' Angels any longer. For them to take a presence on the human realm, they need to fall, which will be explained layer. HOWEVER, there are other ways for an angel to come into the world. For instance:

Nephilim: A child born of an angel and a human uniting, the human giving birth to a half breed. This half-breed will remain human until their death, once they die, as long as the body is not completely destroyed, they will reanimate and have their previous memories....along with new powers and abilities that they must learn to master.

Possession/Summoning: A seraphim or angel of equivilant power, may search the human realm until they find a 'beacon' or a human with the ability to see and or communicate with the dead and others from the other realm. Once finding one they can..in essence..latch onto it, and try to push the human to make an offering of blood and sage over a fitting recently dead body, or living child. The angel will take possession of the corpse and breath their own life into it. If a child they will claim the newborns body and age it to an age of their liking instantly.

Fallen: Falling for an angel...is the most painful experience they could ever endure, even beyond death. For an angel to fall, they simply need to make the choice. They will plummet through the layers of being until they arrive on the mortal realm, broken, naked and bruised...with no memory of who or what they were...for a time. Once they regain that knowledge, they will also learn to make their wings appear, or take on a true angelic look. The look of a fallen is much different from that of a normal angel however, their eyes are a dark color...a black red, black blue, pure black, etc. Their wings are an obsidian, crimson or black.

Becoming Human

An Angel that has come to earth, may become full human, or be forced into mortality by a rather simply act. Angel sings can be any number of looks, colors, varieties, etc. If these wings are to be let out, shown, etc...and by some chance are cut off, removed from the body, etc..the angel will be in such raw agony that they will black out. Upon awakening they will have none of their previous powers, nor extended life time..they will be fully and completely human, with only memories of their previous existence. If they are then killed after the removal of their wings, there is no coming back for them..they are finished..through. Just like a human.

---Exorcism, Forced expulsion, etc.

An Angel, just like a demon, can be forced from the body they inhabit and sent back into purgatory. While extremely painful, and most times deadly to the body they are inhabiting, this is NOT a permanent solution to the issue. Once being sent back to purgatory and having an sufficient amount of time to heal and regain their power, if they can find another way back into the human, mortal realm..they may come once more. They are also sent back to purgatory if slain in anyway, except if killed without their wings, or killed by a demon of angelic blade.

---Angelic Death

An Angel is capable of being slain, however it is extremely difficult. If the Angel is still in possession of their wings, and therefore still an Angel, any normal death will simply send them back into the void for a time. Demons and Angels each carry special blades however, blades not of this realm. If struck down by another angel or perhaps a demon using one of these blades, the Angel will die a true death, their wings bursting into flames and burning them slowly to ash.

---Human Familiar/Companion

An Angel, if assisted into the mortal realm by another, is in a sense bound to the one who brought them into the realm. While it is no deep....controlling binding...it is more like a severe compulsion to be near that person, they will know where the person is, be capable of entering their dreams, know if they are in pain or danger, etc.

---Angel Touched (Ability of Powerful Angels)

Much like the mark of a vampire..however very different. If an angel is strong enough to place their mark on a human (and it must be the human familiar/companion) they may. The mark grants each being different gifts.
Angel
-Gains intimate knowledge of the being.
-Has a more permanent bind on the mortal real. (Cannot be exorcised)
-Can now Feel truer deeper emotions/Become pregnant/Get another with child.
-While they cannot telekinetically communicate...impulses and emotions can be shared.
-stronger and faster when their touched is within a certain distance.

Human
-gains extended life
-stronger/faster/better healing
-immune to poison



Angelic Powers and Abilities

Basics

-increased strength, speed, endurance,healing, etc.
-immune to poisons, infections, etc.
-smell lies, fear, emotion, etc.
-truly immortal
-inspire lust, awe, or submissiveness to a subtle degree

Powers:

• Light Bringer: Can cast a blinding light from eyes, mouth fingers, palm, etc. The light has a scorching, burning affect when wanted, but may also have a healing affect. (RARE POWER)

Demons

Demons are the darker side in the war over the Golden city, they believe in perversion, lust, blood, violence, anything that your parents warn you against or consider to be immoral. However this isn't always the case, many demons can be kind and caring, much like many angels can be cruel and bloodthirsty. Demons have no definitive look as the angels do, as they are not angels nor ever were. Many can have wings, tails, scales, multi colored flesh, horns, forked tongues, they are as unique as can be, no two look alike as many demons have the ability to change their form at will, to whatever they wish to look like at the time.

For a Demon to enter the human realm, it is much more different than that of an angels process. Demons can enter through a few ways as well. Demons also have the urge to feed on blood...simply....because, they also can draw power from it.

Bargaining: Once a demon reaches a certain amount of 'souls' owned, bartered for from humans, they have the ability to take a body in trade. For instance...giving a human three or four subtle wishes...and in a certain amount of years time, claim the body for their own. This way, a demon takes to the mortal realm with their full powers.

Possession: When a demon rips the control away from a human body forcefully. This however, leaves the demon as a human...they have no greater strength, no powers aside from basically parlor tricks.

Summoning: A Demon can be summoned into out realm with the proper items, such as a corpse for the ritual, etc. A Possession through Ritual brings the demon into the mortal realm with their full powers and abilities.
---------Botched Summoning: A witch or warlock attempting to summon a demon flaws somehow..leaving themselves unprotected from the demon. This form of possession bring them in at a somewhat weakened state, but as they learn the body and it's limits, they can quickly grow into their full true power.


Half Demons: Born from union between Demon and man, they are the equivalent of the Nephilim.

Becoming Human
A demon has a much more difficult time in becoming human than their Angelic enemies and cousins. A Demon must take their true form, whatever that may be, and remove horns and wings alike..or tail and wings or any combination of the listed. After this the demon will choke up a black tar like substance and slowly drown in it. Once 'dead' they will fade to ash before waking nude, weak and disoriented somewhere near by.

• Flesh Bending : Can make the flesh of others rip, tear, etc. (Rare power)
