"Do you remember when Analei was so worried she pretended to be a drudge?" Which was sort of playing hooky.

"But yeah. Besides, I really don't think I'd ever have bonded a female dragon anyway. If it wasn't for the Antari, I'm betting I'd have Impressed brown."

Female brownriders had always been unusual, but she was, at some levels, the temperament for it. At others...well. The aqua was the best fit for her. "Of course, aquas come in both, but Babeth...definitely a guy."

Most certainly. As was F'ron's blue....and Geth was quite the sensible dragon. She smiled at F'ron. "And if I was a Weyrwoman, people would be putting all kinds of pressure on me to form a long term relationship with a bronzerider, or a celestial or pyro rider, because people have this crazy idea..." She tailed off.

His brows rose at the mention. "Yeah, she did try that!" he gestured at her, in agreement. "I'd forgotten about that little stunt. You know I think I even saw her once or twice, if I'm recalling correctly, and I never even suspected she was our Weyrwoman." He shook his head, blowing a whistle. "Shows how much I pay attention, huh?"

In all honesty, it truly was sobering to note that a simple attire and hair-color change could slip a well-known individual past everyone's noses. That person could easily have been an ill-meaning miscreant and even folk watching out for them would have looked right past them. Very sobering.

F'ron got a glint in his eye when she started on about the finer particulars of Weyrwomanship, and when she finished with that dangling participle, he laughed.

"Oh, yeah, I can totally see that, Bekora. Shards, you'd probably lose your nut and start popping people's heads off just to vent some frustration! You know you haven't got the patience for people who think they can tell you what to do and how to behave." He gave her a playful nudge with an elbow, grinning impishly.

"Blame my dragon. As quiet as anything until pushed too far, and then, well, better get out of the way."

Because, well...Babeth had demonstrated more than once that he could and would kill anything that truly threatened him or his rider. But most of the time, the aqua was so meek that one would never consider him a threat...or even a suitable dragon for war. Of course, Bekora still feared that they...yes, they...would lose control and truly hurt somebody. And possibly have to be knocked out and tied up. Which was hard to do to a dragon.

"But yeah. Weyrwomen are expected to take lovers who ride big male dragons. It's silly, really...like their queen's likely to choose the same male twice."
