Rules
Updated August 8th, 2006. The following is a list of guidelines and rules that will be enforced at this forum. While posting, keep them in mind and have no doubt about them; they will be enforced. Know, that the purpose of these are to keep order around the forum, and to create a friendly community that everyone can enjoy being around. -----© Copyrights----- - All custom content (Skins/Codes/Graphics) submitted become property of Animé Wave You may not post, upload, link to, or e-mail any content that contains, promotes, instructs about, or provides prohibited content such as the following. - Content that infringes upon any rights (including but not limited to copyrights and privacy rights) - Abusive, threatening, defamatory, racist, or obscene material. - Viruses, Hacking, or any other harmful computer software. - False Information; libel. - Spam or pyramid schemes. - Gambling. - Illegal drugs. - Terrorism. - Warez, CD-Keys, Serial Numbers, etc. - Pornography, nudity, or sexual material of any kind. - Excessive profanity - Invasion of privacy or impersonation of any person or entity. No Spamming ( 1 word topic) ex. woot No Hurting Other Members' Feelings No Advertising (Except for the Advertising forum) No Flaming (Fighting with others) No Double Posting (That is why there is an edit button) No Swearing No Ripping Don't Bump Old topics - Do not backseat moderate, meaning do not tell people what to do if you're not part of the staff. - Please do not ask to be promoted to any staff position on this board. We only offer promotions to those experienced members that we find suitable for the position. - Before posting please look around the forum for additional guideline topics. - If you see people breaking a rule (such as spamming) Use "Report" or PM a admin or staff member. - Be over 13 Years old when registering - Ignorance of the rules is not an excuse, Neither is; "I haven't seen them." or "I didn't know" you are NOW warned for that. Posting Spamming "To post irrelevant or inappropriate messages to one or more Usenet newsgroups, mailing lists, or other messaging system in deliberate or accidental violation of netiquette." That is the definition of spamming, straight off of dictionary.com. Memorize it, save it in your UCP (User Control Panel), do whatever it takes to remember this for it is the definition that will be used when moderating the forum. Consequences for spamming are as follows: First offense - Verbal warning in the topic you were caught committing your first offense. (We are not responsible for any misunderstandings that may take place later on because you did not see this warning.) Second offense - A three-day suspension from the forum. Third and final offense - You will be banned from the forum. Flaming Not as big a deal as spamming, but please try and keep this to a minimum. Being respectful is very important, and is something everyone should do towards each other. The following actions will be taken if flaming is found: First offense - A posted verbal warning. Second offense - A two-day suspension from the forum. Third offense - A one-week suspension from the forum. Fourth and final offense - You will be banned from the forum. Remember: Everyone is entitled to their own opinion, not yours. Advertising The only place you may advertise, is in the Advertise Zone. If you post an advertisement of any sort in any other part of the forum, consequences will follow. That includes(but is not limited to) posting a URL, a graphic, a link, or a couple sentences telling members to go to your forum. (This rule does not pertain to member signatures.) First offense - A two-day suspension from the forum. Second offense - You will be banned from the forum. (Note: The same consequences will follow for PM advertising.) Advertising should be one of those 'you learn from your mistakes' kind of things, so you only get one chance to make up. Manners • If you are being racist to members or staff you will be suspended, warned or banned depending on the case. • Bad jokes, racism jokes, and gender jokes are not welcomed at Anime Wave. • Please try to respect members and staff as much as possible. Following the rules • Before posting please look around the forum for additional guideline topics. • Following the rules will avoid getting you banned and/or suspended in our community. The Board is not responsable for losses - We have the right to edit or remove any posted text. Topics may be deleted or closed to keep the board organized and up to date. - By registering on this board, you agree that your account status may be changed or deleted at any time without any warning or explanation. (Note: that you might be deleted if you make no posts) ----- If you think anything should be added or edited please PM Shikamaru about it and if we think your right then we will edit it in. Happy posting, Shikamaru, Head Admin & The staff here at Anime Wave RP Rules: Here are some extra rules following the normal forum rules that are to be used in the rp section. 1. Signatures Off Very simple rule, keep your signatures off in roleplay posts, this allows the pages to load up faster and makes it easy for all members to quickly read through unread posts etc. 2. No God-Modding God-moding or power playing will not be tolerated. God-moding includes endowing a character with god-like abilities (strength, age, magic, etc.), or having a character excel in everything. Power playing is often encountered during in-character fights. It includes not acknowledging another character's attack/ actions, or role-playing other characters by not allowing them time to react. In other words, your character can’t be god-like. They are like any other being and are able to be hurt and/or killed.. see examples below. God Mod example: Saigo ran towards Koga with blinding speed, and before Koga could move he had impaled him straight through the chest with his blade. He pulled it out and cut Koga again and again until Koga couldn't move any lon ger. Saigo then took a deep breath as he took the final blow, killing Koga by sending his blade through his heart. That was an example of extreme god modding. under no circumstances should you EVER kill another members character. in the events of two members battling they should discuss the battle outcome through pm. Here is an example of the previous post that is acceptable (this point of view is from a member playing Saigo): Saigo ran towards Koga with blinding speed, His blade readied to strike Koga. As he closed in they clashed as Koga blocked the blow. Saigo spun around pulling away from the clash and flicked his blade quickly, creating a small cut across Koga's cheek. Koga retaliated fiercely, knocking the blade from Saigo's hand, renderring him defenceless. Now in regards to creating heavy damage, only members can cause their own characters damage. for example here is a sample from "Saigo's" point of view. Saigo braced himself as Koga attacked, causing a deep cut across his chest. however the member playing "Koga" could not harm the person playing "Saigo" to this extent in his own post without being given permission via pm by the member playing "Saigo" to do so. To conclude, if roleplayers fight fair and don't axfixiate to much on being better and unbeatable then the roleplays should go along smoother without any difficulties and also will make for a more interesting read. 3. Do not take the role-playing too personally. Character actions do not always reflect the feelings of the players. 4. The one who created the thread is in control. They control where their stories go and how it will end. In the end, they have all the power. Should they need to, they can terminate a character as long as it is reasonable bounds. If they choose, they can add rules that aren’t included in this thread. 5. Try to limit OOCs (Out of Characters) to almost none. OOCs are when you are talking out of character, as in to tell someone else something. Avoid using them if possible. Instead, using the PM system. If you do use an OOC, you MUST follow it with an IC (In Character). This helps people know when you are talking as your character and when you’re not. 6. Quality and Quantity. You might want to join many RP’s at all once. Keep in mind that most of us like quality OVER quantity. Instead of making short posts in all of your RPs, focus on one or two at a time. This will allow you to work on adding details and make the post better. As you become more skilled, you can work on expanding all of this. In the event you find another RP that you would enjoy, don’t be ashamed of leaving one of your current ones for it. Just make sure you tell the thread owner that you are leaving that RP so they don’t get on your case about it. Abide by these rules people, they'll benefit. - You are allowed to post one topic per board per every two months. - Advertisements may only last one month before they are closed. The advertiser must wait 2 months to advertise the board again. - In order to advertise a board, you must be a staff member on that board which you are advertising for. - Spamming within your topic (including bumping*) is not permitted. If you do not comply with this rule even after a verbal warning, your topic will be closed. - Creating a new account to bump a topic will not be tolerated. - Websites may only be advertised if a board is associated with it and a link can be found to the board on the website. - All Boards must comply with InvisionFree's Terms of Service. Any Boards conflicting with the TOS will be reported, and the topic closed. - You may not create threads for the sole purpose to gather advice on what kind of board you should create, what skin you should use, ideas for names of a new board, etc. - We ask that members do not Backseat Moderate telling members to follow the guidelines or anything similarly. Staff Members can adequately handle these circumstances and although the gesture might be a good one, we ask that members leave it to the Staff. If you break any of the above rules, your topic will be trashed and placed in the Trashed Advertisements forum. You may PM the individual who closed your topic, and request that it be moved back, as soon as you have removed the violating content. The content changes must be made within 20 days of the closure of your topic. If you do not remove the violating content within the allotted 10 days, you must wait six months to re-advertise. If you choose not to remove the violating content, you may not re-advertise if you wait two months. Common Courtesy: We ask that as users browse this forum, you remember common courtesy when replying within others' threads. This includes not spamming, flaming, or being rude. Constructive criticism is okay in some circumstances, but basically the phrase to remember is this: If you can't say anything nice, don't say anything at all. We also ask that members not review others' boards within the Advertise Zone. If a user is wanting a review, then they can receive one from some other forum the gives reviews. On another note, please do not plug your forum in someone else's thread- if you wish to affiliate, send your request to the threadmaker via PM. If you post your link in another person's thread, the link will be removed. Thank you for taking the time to read these simple rules.
