Making Things Permanent (Maria)

I looked down at him, shocked that he had actually asked me. I had been hoping he would, but I didn't think he would. He wasn't exactly known for being romantic.

"Yes! Of course I'll marry you!" I said, pulling him up by his shoulders so I could kiss him.

I smiled down at her after kissing her softly. “I was hoping you’d accept. In fact, I was praying you’d accept. I love you, Maria, and I’m going to give you the biggest wedding you could ever imagine,” I told her.

I pulled away from him, a wave of excitement washing over me. "Oh my! I can't wait! I want Liz to be the maid of honor of course! And I'm assuming Max will be the best man! I don't want too big of a wedding. Just the eight of us. Ya know? But, I would love to have my mom there, but I know it's too dangerous." I let out a sigh. I really did want my mom there when I got married. She really had grown fond of Michael, and she would be really happy to know that Alex was still alive.

I chuckled as she began to plan aloud. “I think she’ll be excited. Yes, I wouldn’t ask anyone else. Okay. A sort of medium-sized wedding…is that okay with you? Amy is the next person we’ll call to tell our news. In fact, why don’t we call everyone except for Kyle and Tess together for a short meeting and tell them the news before we break it to your mom?”

"Isn't it too dangerous to tell my mom?" I asked.

[Michael Guerin]

“If you don’t want to tell her, I’m okay with that. But I still think she’ll be excited to know that her only child is getting married,” I replied softly. After sliding the ring onto her finger finally, I gently guided her onto the bed, sitting down myself before pulling her into my lap. “It may be dangerous, but I want my beautiful bride to be to have her mother there if she really wants it.”

I pressed the back of my hand against Michael's forehead. "Okay, who are you and what have you done with my spaceboy?" I demanded.

Something had gotten into him. He was acting too Maxy for my liking.

I chuckled and shook my head when I realized I was starting to sound a little like Max. “I’m still here. I just think you’d be happier if your mom was there. I just want you to be happy, but if you’re not ready for this, we can wait until it’s safe enough,” I replied.

[Maria Deluca]

"I just want everyone to be safe," I said, sighing. "I couldn't imagine what I would do if you were taken by the FBI, Michael."

[Michael Guerin]

I nodded, kissing her softly and quickly before she could turn it into more. “I understand, Maria. If it would make you feel better, we can always Skype with her afterwards and tell her the news,” I told her.

I shook my head, pulling away from him completely, and sitting down on the bed. "Do you not understand, Michael? The FBI is looking for you guys! They can track your computer usage to my mother! That can endanger you and her." I was happy that he was willing to do that for me, but at the same time angry at his lack of responsibility.

[Michael Guerin]

I grabbed her chin and all but forced her to look at me. “I do understand, Maria! I’m not foolish enough to go that far. We would be completely discreet, you know. Maria, I just want you to be happy, but it’s quite apparent that you’re not happy with me at all. Maybe I should go talk to Max and see what he thinks about it. I’ll be back in a bit,” I said as I got up and kissed her forehead before leaving.
