greetings, in looking threw your rules of play I noticed nothing on how interactions of "chance / skill" is conducted. I would assume, characters in the realm of Amarati do not always succeed in skill full feats during their interaction with the world, be it in the form of stumbling while free running, missing a branch while climbing a tree, or other events that have a chance for failure, as is common place in reality.
As such, I would like to ask if there is a way in which you would like such things to be deemed success or failure, or if to be automatically assumed successful. if the later of options, I would ask how interaction with others in a non agreeing form, such as a challenge of skill or outright combat is decided.
Some games utilise the D-type approach, where all interactions are rolled by die and decided by the higher of rolls. while in my opinion the better of options, i can see how on a forum style RPG this would be highly difficult to organise and utilize.
Another style of interaction would be a simple points system, for example, say two characters "rob" and "bob" are in a friendly sparing match "rob" having more strength than "Bob" would have 7 points per hit, however being slower than "bob" he suffers a -2 to speed, giving a total attack score of 5, where's on the defending side, "Bob" being the smaller, would have a 4 to Defence, however being more agile he would have a +2 to his defence allowing him to dodge. ( 5pt vs 6pt)
Though I am not trying to say that these are the only ways, they are simple examples of other ways that I know of for deciding outcomes to events. if yours is another way, I would be happy to learn about it. thank you for your time in answering these, and if I have asked in a confusing way I will do my best to make it simpler.
