If When elected, I will boost our Penguin Death Squad to a 1.000.000-strong Penguin Army! ninja.gif

Don't we have more than enough penguin death squads already? To fight Southern Plutopia? Why don't we let Northern Plutopia deal with this issue. Let them have more acid-spitting llamas, so they can annex it to their territory. It's not our war, so why should we send our Penguin death squads halfway accross the Universe? Are they really that expandable in your mind?

I am not a peacenik or anything. We already have an army of penguins to defend ourselves. We already contribute to the Empire army of penguins, more than our share, I'd say. Enough with this bloody carnage!

We should, on the other hand, send some kind of support to Northern Plutopians, who will necessarily suffer from this (war) annexation. I have a bunch of coupons from Price Choppers, if that may be of help. I know, food help usually come in by U.N planes, but that is SOOO overdone. I think I may have some from Walmart too. Who else is in?

Boy! It is rather difficult to get a debate going when the others won't join in. What'up with you two? You think it's all settled, and you'll be re-elected without having to make an effort? Come on! At least add a little something to the pot: there's nothing to stir!

And don't forget to vote for me!

I have a book of coupons from Mazzio's and a Schwann's catalog. Will that work?

I still prefer the million penguin army.

Mobilized by Verden, of course.

Hail, Hail, Hailstone!

Who else likes the idea of the million penguin army? Because, let's face it: as a politician, I am silly putty. I will go for anything my fellow citizens deem necessary. I suppose if Verden is willing to supply the said penguins, there is no problem is there? We wouldn't want to subject our Penguin Death Squads to an unnecessary war. Tell me what you think, and together, we will build a better future for Earth!

As for the coupons, all are welcome. I'm sure the citizens of Northern Plutopia will appreciate our generous help if they need it.

Don't forget to vote for me on election day!

Does anyone else have an issue with quantity over quality? With logistics put into the equation, I would rather help pay for a few brigades of highly-trained, well-equipped Eudyptula minor in stealth suits and support them in the field than a million common rockhoppers. The lower overhead would allow diversification into llama deployment for territorial warfare as appropriate. Given the distances to be covered in the event of a mobilization to the outlying colonies, it would seem more prudent to me.

I'm not questioning the concept of more penguin death squads. I rarely see references to http://blogs.wefrag.com/MathieuFROG/files/2009/04/zombie_penguin_by_daveallsop.jpg so I support them in principle as a military force. But I'd like to see an accounting of how allocated penguins so far have been utilized before supporting such a radical expansion.

Okay, instead of a million penguins, how 'bout 150,000 plus two to four hundred giant penguins with heavy beam weapons and missiles.

Posted by: mafalda Dec 7 2009, 04:44 PM
I think the point Aaron was trying to make, and which I am also trying to make, is: do we need those, or are you just trying to show off? A show of force might work for some, it doesn't do it for me. Besides, once you have your unneeded penguins, you have to find something for them to do, and not just sit on their asses all day eating fish. And a million penguins, even 150000 regular sized penguins and a few giant ones, eat a lot of fish!

Defending the Empire is a necessity, as is defending our colony. Perhaps we should determine how our troops are used and deployed before entering into such tactics as adding more penguin death squads. If need be, we'll add whatever llamas, penguins and other lethal lazer-firing implements that are needed, where they are needed.

Invasion of nearby ocean worlds is all part of the long-range penguin plan.

The giant ones can serve as rides for children when not being used for warfare, while the remaining penguins...well. that's all part of the long-range plan which has been referred to a bi-partisan committee for further study. Expect fulminous debate but little real planning from the committee real soon.

My fellow Earthicans,

Please vote for me in the Election.

I apologize for my delay in posting here. In addition to having limited internet access, I recently started a new job. However, if elected, I would not let these issues interfere with my Senatorial duties.

As I always say, the Senate is the seriousness that contrasts the Empire's sillyness. Without a serious Senate, the Empire could not have as much fun. The better the Senate, the more fun the Empire can have. As a Senator, I will work diligently in the Senate to keep the Empire silly.

I won't make any claims (outrageous or otherwise) as to what I will do as Senator of Earth other than this: I will strive to support the goals and ideals of my fellow Earthicans to the best of my abilities.

I hope that my previous years of service showcase what I will do for Earth Colony and for the Aerican Empire.

Please vote for me in the Election.

Sincerely,

Randy Walker

Randy,

It seems you are the rational one here. In heated debate, it is good to be able to stand up for what is right for Earth and the Empire as a whole rather than ride the tide of populism.

However.... I notice that with this post, I now have as many posts as you do. I'm unfamiliar with Aerican history other than that which is on our website, so referencing past accomplishments means little to me other than you claim to have a track record.

Could you crow a bit about your accomplishments, for those of us who only know you from your two posts? Don't be shy, if you've done something significant for Earth and the Empire let us know!

What vision do you offer us to buy into? I see others offering their services as puppets for those of us with agendas, and a million-penguin army for conquest. Mr. Rationality, please spell out your agenda and your vision for us!

Aaron

First, let me encourage you to join the Official mailing list. It is where all of the Empire's business takes place. Also, the Senate List is open to anyone for viewing.

I have served as President of the Senate for the past four years and I have been a Senator of Earth for the past eight. In that time, I have worked to establish Aerican law, define her colonies, and to organize Senate voting.

My agenda is simple: Make the Aerican Empire the best it can be.

In addition to the Penguin Army, I will also create Delta Force: a finely tuned machine of 42 genetically-modified emperor penguin death machines.

Also I will give food, weapons, other aid, and weapons (about 28.000.000 ƺ worth) to the Northern Plutopians and establish a research center (and a research centre as well) in (on?) Verden.

Also I will campaign in favor (and in favour) of expanding. Not too much though.

Also (more) treaties.

Why would you think that Northern Plutopia needs aid from earth? We're not a developing province, we're well-established, well-defended and... well-silly proof of the Aerican spirit.

You're at war with Southern Plutopia. dry.gif

Not technically. We're just a little cross with them because they took some paintball guns from us and we haven't gotten them back yet (and, of course, because they're kind of a sinister bunch).
But otherwise, we're all set, our Border Trenches are well filled and, of course, the Order of the Eastern Calculus takes care of most of the martial work.
