Title: Hello!

Julian - December 1, 2008 03:06 AM (GMT)
I'd just like to say "Hello!" to all ye great Aericans!
I, for one, am excited about a forum.
I never really respond to the e-mails, and don't read some of them, because the conversation gets a little confusing, what with every message ending up in my in box. Sometimes two people will respond to one e-mail, and then two different people will respond to each of their e-mails, and it generally mixes me up a bit.
Here, where I can go to a focused thread, I think communication will be much easier! :)

yeah, that yahoo group stuff really confused me - thats why I made these. I mean, im probably just biased having never used a group before, but this seems easier. Just so long as we can get enough active members, that is.

Hello, everyone!!

I have been absent for some months thanks to a brief layoff, intense job hunt, and demanding new job.

At this time, I am in a hotel somewhere in the Southern US, travelling on business. Having awakened 2 hours before the alarm is set, I find I have loads of free time to try catching up on my much neglected social duties. Do not, however, take this as a sign that I will suddenly become the overactive social butterfly I once was (see "demanding job", above). :P

All in all, though, it has been a good move.

Now, does anyone know someone who wants to by a cozy 3 bedroom cottage in a ridiculously small town (population <100) in rural Arkansas??? My buyer was pre-approved for twice our asking price (yes, I mean approved, not qualified), but her loan was turned down at the last minute. My 110 mile daily commute is starting to irritate me.

Ouch. 110M a day?
Is that one way, or round trip?

And, might I ask, what do you work as? :P

I do think forums like this make communication very easy, unless two people post at the same time and a post is before one in which it should be after, and it's all confusing as to what people are talking about, but luckily this rarely ever happens.

Ellimistd - December 28, 2008 08:34 PM (GMT)
that is true, but the email list system had the same problem I think.

of course, given that only about 4 people max use these forums, they're not particularly effective either.
