Another Day Another Dollar

[Frame]

I started the topic, I got so bored... Orpheus glared out over the lake, Riven had told him that he was the runt again. That pissed him off so bad, he'd called her a mean name and gotten in trouble. Weeks old and he was still being treated like a baby. He could walk, he could talk, he was smart, and he could see and hear. His siblings found it envigorating to tell him that he wasn't there real brother. Frame had yelled at them for it again, he'd sought comfort in the sound of her heart beat. He liked that, he didn't know why, he just did. Now, he was sitting on his ass glaring at a lake river.. thing. He growled. He may have been the small one, but he was in fact the most intelectual. His goldenrod optics glared out over the fish, swimming about in the water. A white ear twitched in response the the splahing noise as it landed. He sighed, he spent many a day doing this. Glaring at things and talking to himself. He'd made Riven cry today, he'd insulted her and than bit her. The baby, she couldn't even take a little pain... He was torn up from their mockery! Except Riven, she'd always defend him. She cared. As did Frame and Kortation. He wouldn't call them mother and father often, it was too informal. Mother- no!- Frame was approaching him though. Orpheus, what's wrong? Why are you all by yourself? His mother's voice invaded his ears. He looked up at her, mind going blank. She looked so pretty. Yes, he would admit that his mother and sister, Riven, were pretty. They were all black, save for Riven's patch of white. Freya.. He didn't like her, she was soft spoken and quiet, and she had something against him or something. He sighed, Nothing, mother. I was just sitting and ejoying the silence. He was half lying , he was half telling the truth. He'd been enjoying the silence, but he'd also been thinking of how to talk to Riven.. And, apologize. And who just happen to come running. No one but Riven!!, of course. Frame nodded and moved away, leaving her pups at the riverlake while she went to get the others. They'd learn how to swim today. Korry could help with them and everything! Orpheus stared at Riven a long while, as did Riven to Orpheus. Until Riven spoke gently, It's okay. You didn't mean it, you were just venting. She added a smile to her statement, hugging her little brother. He was small compared to the others, wasn't he? Frame returned with Freya, Kortation was somewhere with the boys. They spent a lot of time together.. But Orpheus didn't like being with Osiris and Cronus, he liked being alone, or with Riven. Not Freya either, they didn't like each other now did they? She sighed, this was tough... Okay, guys! When daddy and Osiris and Cronus get back, you're going to learn how to swim! hHe watched Riven and Freya's faces light up, but the color seemed to drain from Orpheus's already white face. He frowned.. Oh joy.. He muttered, rather sarcastically.

bic; "Alrighty, kids! You guys ain't monkeys. Don't climb up the tree! What the hell? Your a wolf. Wolves don't climb trees. They run on ground!" Kortation yelled out as he returned from the water. He goes away for a second and his two sons are climbing up a tree. Cronus tumbled down to the ground as he lost grip of the tree. He whined and and turned to his father. "But.. Dad," he cried, "The birds are mocking us. I wanna kill them!" Osiris was the next one to tumble down from the tree trunk. "Ya," Osiris protested, "The birds are givin' me a headache!!" Kortation's head dropped as he gave out a long sigh. They hate birds, too. How wonderful. His head rose and he looked at his pups. "Just don't let me catch you doin' that again. I'll prove that you guys aren't monkeys if I do." Cronus and Osiris gave a big nod as they ran back to the area where their siblings and mother where. Kortation followed behind, watching them tumble around and playfuly nip eachother on the ears.

Their family came into view, and Cronus and Osiris ran into the crowd of pups, tackling them and saying hello in their usual pup way. Kortation gathered over by Frame and licked her. "So.. what's today's lesson, Frame?" He asked, looking down at the pups. They were growning already, almost too fast. The next time he knew it, they'd be so grown...

[Frame]

Bright Colors... Sweet. Orpheus stared at his siblings, had he heard right? They were climbing trees? H shook his head. You two really are dumasses... He mumbled, he heard Riven laugh.Mommy! Orpheus said the 'Dumass' word again! Freya cried, shooting a smirk towards her brother. Riven busted a gut laughing. If anyone's stupid it's you! SHe cried in between fits of laughter. Frame frowned down at them. Now now, that's not nice. SHe cast Orpheus his third, boy-you-are-in-sooo-much-trouble look. Orpheus smirked. Standing. Anyways... FRame continued, Today, you're learning how to swim! The grils jumped for joy. Riven was already faster than the rest of them, now she could be in water too! But Freya was just happy to spend time with her family. Orpheus cast his brothers another death glare. Complete with daggers. His white tail flicked again. If you make fun of me, I'll beat you up... Another threat, another chance for them to ridicule him. They weren't the nicest brothers, but they were his.

bic; "Damn.. don't you feel the love in the air?" Kortation asked out of sarcasm. Well.. I guess you can say this is normal. Name calling when they are pups... is normal. That's of what Kortation thought, at least. He shot a glance over at Orpheus. "Hey!" he snapped, "Don't be using those words! Only I can. People with a low expansion of vocabulary use those. You're smart. Use different words, alright?" Cronus stole a glance at Orpheus. "Yaaaaa!" He smartly remarked. Cronus jumped with joy from the announcement that they were going to learn how to swim. The questions flowed through his mind. He walked up to his mother and stared up at her. "Mom? What's swimming?" he asked. "Why do we have to learn to swim?" The questions were beginning to flow out. "Why do we have to learn everything? Is it so important? I don't think so. How are we gonna swim? Birdies float on the water. Can we float? Is that how we swim? Do we walk on water like them??" Osiris made his way towards the water. He looked into the glistening lake and watched it sparkle. His head dropped down as he stared into his ripply reflection. He tilted his head one way. The reflection did the same. It was a big coppy cat! "Mom! Dad! Tell the other Osiris to stop copying me!" He backed up from the water and looked up at his parents with a worried look. Kortation sighed, looking at Frame.

Bright Colors... Sweet. Swimming.. Great. Orpheus just couldn't wait to learn how to swim... That is too much sarcasm to even be considered as factual. Father, if you do not wish for me to use such foul language, than I shall not. For I know that am by far the most intelectual one under one year of age here. Orpheus spat the words, they dripped off of his tongue like vemon. Like Hell could this man tell him what not to say! If you truely disapprove of foul language than why use it yourself? Riven stared at her brother, she didn't understand most of what he'd just said. Her amber eyes wide, for she'd understood that he was angry and that he was being very rude to their father. Wow... Was all she managed to mutter as her mother looked down at him in shock. Orpheus! Apologize! Now! Pale goldenrod hued optics glared up at their mother, switching from parent to parent in short trips. Freya and Riven stared at him, they may have only understood the bare minimum of what their sibling had spat out, they knew that it was a bad idea to say that at all, let alone to your parents! He received glares from most of his family. He smirked and scoffed them away. He wasn't going to apologize, oh no. Hehe, he had a larger plan. Frame acted as if nothing was the matter, she answered all of Cronus's questions and was explaining to Osiris that it was just his reflection.. And what a reflection was.

bic; Kortation's eyebrows creased at the pup. Maybe he misheard- is this pup speaking to him as if he was poor white trash? He was about to pin him down at the moment and show him who was Dad around here, but no. How'd he know such words, though? They we're only kids, nonetheless. He took a sigh, and looked up at Frame. "Have I ever used those words around these pups? If so, I never really noticed." He turned back to Orpheus and smiled as if he hadn't said anything. "Well, I don't want you saying them because they can become very insulting towards others, and it might make them feel really bad. Nobody likes that to happen. They are big adult words, and we know how to use them in a better way. Also, I don't know alot of words, so I tend to use them. But you, Orpheus, you know a lot of words. Hell," He knew he just said it right now, "you're going to know much more words than me." Cronus looked over at Osiris, who seemed to be doing something much more fun than asking Mom questions. He trotted over there and stared carefully. "Watchya doin'?" He asked after a while. Osiris was studying his reflection. He shot odd glances at the handsome wolf in the water as if he were talking to a clone. Cronus looked at his own reflection. His heart pounded with excitement. "Mom! Mom! Look!! Is this me? Wow! Do I look like this? Do I?" He danced around while looking at his clone. He was copying everything he did! It seemed cool at the moment, but Cronus got bothered. He didn't like it copying him anymore. Mom had said the water makes a sorta mirror for you, so he didn't bother the fact. He walked away with no more interest. Osiris was still staring at his reflection. Cronus had finally stopped bothering him, and now he can concentrate. How was he going to quickly paw the being in the water? It was as quick as him. everytime he tried to paw at it, the reflection did the same. He knew he wouldn't be able to catch it off gaurd if he was the one pawing at the water. Curiously, he stuck his nose out and stiffed the water. It smelt like- regular water. He bent down further until an uncomfortable feeling rushed up his nose. He started coughing and coughing. He pulled his snout back, still coughing, trying to get the water of his lungs. What was this that was happening? He kept coughing, slowly walking over to Mom. Kortation looked at the pup with worried eyes. He walked over to him, and the pup was still coughing. Kortation gave him a few licks. "You alright, buddy?" He asked. Osiris just gave another cough in response until he barfed up only a segiment of water... and some parts of a previous meal. All the other water had found it's way somewhere else.

I was itching to use this table... -scrathes- ♥ Orpheus quirked a brow, did he really have a more expansive vocabulary than his father? Actually, Kortation, you use such words while you are in a subconscious state of mind. Or, in laymen's terms. Sleeping. He said with a smirk. His pale ear twitched at the sudden coughing noise of his brother. The imbecile had let the water flow up his nose. He felt a cold nose on his behind, Frame was pushing him towards the others.. And towards the water! He writhed and wriggled, trying to free himself from the imminent doom. "We're swimming today, guys, so into the water you go. She said, hoisting the females into the water. She put them into the shallow end where they could stand, Orpheus stood as close to the shore as he could, without getting out of the water. He assumed the girls were playing, for he heard splashing. He himself had gotten splashed a couple of times. He only growled in response. His sisters had found their fins and were splashing and swimming about in the shallows. His mother was watching from farther off, the water there came up to her knees. She smiled and beckoned him to come closer. Her tail flicking in response. Frame smiled, tail aflick, swaying to and fro as she watched the grils play and the boys sit on the shore. They could get in when they were ready. She smiled over to Kortation, her heart flickered. The yweere growing so fast, tehy really were. She smiled down at them, the sun at it's zenith. They would be hungry soon.

[Celestia]

AW, I presume? -loves Orpheus's table- A rather small tawny and brown fae trotted over the border, her head held high. Her blue eyes glaring out over the terrain. Her small frame carried her bodice over to a lake. She'd just sat down to get a drink when she heard splashing and laughing and growling. She raised her head up to see a bunch of other wolves. She smiled, finally! Civilization! She scrambled off of the back and rushed over to the other side of the lake. Looking at the black wolf in the water.. The big one. And the puppies! She pushed her head towards Kortation, a smile escaping onto her maw. Hiya! I'm Celestia Eden! She yell/yipped, I was wondering if I could stay here! I mean, it's really pretty and stuff, and I need a place to stay anyways. I know it's real informal to just come up to an alpha and ask but can I?!? She'd made up her mind to stay as she was running over to this side of the lake. Besides there were other puppies here for her to play with. She didn't wait for an answer, she just ran into the water, not before bowing to Kortation. She smiled up at Frame, bowing to her as well. Her tail flicked as she romped around, careful of the smaller pups, and played. She looked over at Orpheus, he was different from the other ones. She gave him a warm smile before resuming her play.

bic; Kortation stared at Orpheus. He was really sounding disrespectful now. His temper slowly started to boil over it's lid, though he still didn't show it. "It's rude for one's own son who is a pup to call him by his accual name." he muttered. It was as if the words were dripping out like toxic waste. Cronus began to breathe the firsts couple of breaths without water infultrating his lungs. He look over at Orpheus with a studied mind. Why was he talking like that to Dad? He was obviously trying to talk back to Father. It sounded so disrespectful, and he could tell Dad didn't like it. Cronus nuzzled Kortation's leg and looked up at him. "Hey, Dad! Can ya come over to the water with me?" Cronus made his way towards the water, and Kortation gave one more glace at Orpheus before following his look-a-like son to the water. Even if he does mouth off sometimes, he was still his son. He would love him no matter what he did or what he said. That would never change. Kortation stole a glance over at Celestia, who was walking right towards him. He smiled at the small pup with her request to join the pack. "Ya have any parents with you, or gaurdians.." It looked like nobody was accompaning the young pup. Boy, that was a stupid question. He stood for a moment, thinking hard. "Well, kid, what's your name, first of all? Where'd ya come from?" The questions seemed to be flowing out like the water that rushed downstream.

[Frame]

Bright Colors... Sweet. Orpheus just scoffed at his father's request. Than watched a random pup come running up to his parents. Frame smiled at the pups, ebon auds twitching at the speed of her talking, trying to keep up. She sighed slightly after she finished. Riven and Freya were playing with her. She walked over to Kortation lightly and whispered to him, She already gave her name... She made sure that it was silent enough so that Orpheus wouldn't make another rude remark at his father. He could easily be punished, but he wouldn't be punished too harshly. After all, Kortation loved his sons and daughters. She licked Kortation on the cheek. She got 'awww!'s from the girls and a shocked look from Orpheus. She thought she heard twin 'eeeewww!'s reach her ears from the boys. She only smiled and nudged them all back into the water to play. She'd teach them how to swim when tehy were done playing.

bic; "What she did?" One could tell that Kortation wasn't the brightest wolf. He shook his head to get the numbness out when he felt a ruffly surface go up his cheek. A look of suprisement played on his face. Nonetheless, he smiled and nudged Frame. He looked down at the pups who were making remarks. "Hey.. I don't wanna hear any of that. You guys are just too young. You don't understand. We'll tell you about it when you're older. In the meantime, I don't want to hear any 'eews.' That's some negitivity." 'Negitivity' had to be the most educational word he'd used all day long. "Uhh.. as for the 'aaws..' those are.. positive. Yeah. Keep using positive, not negative." Cronus' brow creased. Was he that slow?"Hey, Daad!! Come out to the water with me. I asked you a long time ago!" And with that, Cronus turned back to the water and pounced in, followed by a large 'kerplunk!' Kortation followed behind, putting one of his paws into the water. Around this time of season, it wasn't that cold, but just fine. He placed all fours in the watter and looked at his son. He then looked back at Celestia. "Stick around. Enjoy yourself. I'll think about it."

Yeah. Tomo tends to confuse people. Orpheus scowled, climbing into the water with the rest of his family. It wasn't really cold, just a little bit. He had just began to relax and move a little farther out when Freya came knocking into him, he'd been sticking his tongue out and now had bitten it. He'd also been sent flying face first into the water. Water slowly dripped off of the white fur as Orpheus lifted his face out of the water. A rather manic look played across his face. He opened his mouth to say something but as his tongue colided with the top of his mouth he tasted something he'd never tasted before. It was sort of metallic like. He spat into the water, a red blob coming out... What is it...? He sniffed it, on instinct he knew what it was. A growl emited from his throat and he launched himself at Freya. Only to be stopped by a pair of black jaws gently clamping around him. Frame had grown more worried as the moments passed. Orpheus already wasn't that stable. She had to get to him before he hurt someone. She got to him just in time. She was now carrying the small pup out of the water and onto the shore. She layed down with him and licked his head, pressing him against her heart. He was panting and his eyes were wide as they darted from person to person. He growled when his eyes met Freya, who hid behind her father's leg.

bic; Kortation's brow creased, and he moved to where Freya was vulnerable for another attack. "Freya... that wasn't nice. Say you're sorry. Now." He said in a more serious tone. "Your brother's hurt, and he needs to hear an apology." Cronus stopped splashing and looked over to all the commotion. He lost interest quickly, and turned back to pounce into the deeper end. He discovered how to swim, and was quickly paddling deeper into the lake. He turned around half-way into the lake to look at his family, who were way on-shore. "Hey, Dad!! Mom!! Look how far I am!! Look!!" He shouted under his breath. His words made it difficult to keep on top of the water, and his legs became soar. He stuck his snout up in the air to take more breaths, but it only made keeping up on the water difficult. He paddled back to the shore, his paws getting more tired and tired, and the shore seemed so far away now. Cronus couldn't help but dunk his tired body underwater. He went back up as he discovered he could not breathe under water. Kortation looked out to his son, and a fearful look had shone in his eyes. "Damnit.." he whispered as he made his way out to the water to grab Cronus.
