A half-clan queen gives birth to a litter of eight kits. Her mate just happens to be half-clan himself, but of different clans than the queen. Everything goes fine until the kits are about three moons old. The queen realizes she can't take care of all eight of them on her own, so she keeps two in her clan, and spreads the rest across the remaining three clans. (Two in each clan) Each of the kits make it to being an apprentice, but four of the kits die before their warrior ceremony. (One from each clan) The remaining apprentices all take the suffix of their warrior name from their siblings prefix. The kits names are: The warrior names of the kits will be: Shadowstream, Swiftsand, Spottedstone, and Silentstorm. | News |

Whee! We've started roleplay. Sha-pow! xD So, everyone, feel free to start your own threads in the territories. If you have any questions, Amber and I would be happy to help sort them out. -nod- Anddd.. we still have those contests to get to. Also, just because we started roleplay doesn't mean that you have to stop making kitties. You can still create them and have them join in roleplay any time. Please keep recruiting, and stay active! -Mwah!-
-Your Admin, Moof The Season and weather It is currently Greenleaf. The prey is plentiful, and the weather is lovely. The cats will take in all of this nice weather before it turns nasty again. It's a good thing there's so much prey. They'll be wishing that they had that much in LeafBare. Gatherings/Medicine cat meetings The First Gathering will be held when Amber and I decide so. I don't want to go by the "Moon phase" thing, because... well... sometimes having Gatherings every time it is on a Full Moon is inconvenient. We will do it when everyone is on, and things. Teeheehee. As for the Medicine Cat meetings, where they go to the Moonstone every half-moon, we will hold it, again, when Amber and I decide that the time is right. |

Medicine Cat Apprentice Ceremony
Medicine Cat: Spottedpaw, is it your wish to enter into the mysteries of StarClan as a medicine cat? Medicine Cat Apprentice: It is. Medicine Cat: Then come forward *Apprentice obliges* Medicine Cat: Warriors of StarClan, I present to you this apprentice. She has chosen the path of a medicine cat. Grant her your wisdom and insight so that she may understand your ways and heal her Clan in accordance with your will. *Lies down before Moonstone/whatever-else-it-is* Medicine Cat Ceremony Medicine Cat: I, Dreamcloud, medicine cat of ThunderClan, call upon my warrior ancestors to look down on this apprentice. She has trained hard to understand the way of a medicine cat, and with your help she will serve your Clan for many moons. Spottedpaw, do you promise to uphold the way of a medicine cat, to stand apart from rivalry between Clan and Clan, and to protect all cats equally, even at the cost of your life? Medicine Cat Apprentice: I do. Medicine Cat: Then, by the powers of StarClan, I give you your true name as a medicine cat. Spottedpaw, from this moment you shall be known as Spottedleaf. StarClan honors your knowledge and certainty, and we welcome you as a full medicine cat of ThunderClan. -I'm just using examples there. There won't be any more in the next ones.- Apprentice Ceremonies When a cat has not recieved it's mentor, and is 6 moons old at least, an apprentice ceremony is done. At this time, the leader tells all members of the Clan to join him/her at the rock. The cat is given the suffix of -paw (if the cat is called Whitekit for example, the apprentice name is Whitepaw. Non-clan cats usually have their name totally changed, or altered slightly when they join) when a cat is named an apprentice. That is their name until they are named as a warrior later in life. Ceremony speech is- "I say these words before StarClan, that the spirits of our warrior ancestors may hear and approve of my choice. The newest apprentice(s) of [clan] is/are [insertfirstpartofname]paw!" (Then the leader chooses the mentor for the apprentice, and everything like that) Kittypet Apprentice Ceremony They are the same as the regular ones (apprentice ceremonies), except the naming is to be done with the collar stripped off, and placed in front of the new apprentice (collars are considered to be a branding of Twoleg companionship). If there is no collar, then the regular procedure is done. (Leader chooses mentor and stuffs) Warrior Naming Ceremony When an apprentice has either been fully trained or has performed a great deed of bravery, then they are named as warriors. The prefix of the name stays the same, but the last part changes (most common suffixes are -pelt, -claw, -tail, -fur, -foot, -heart, -cloud, and -fang. If a cat is called Whitepaw, then their name is turned into something like Whitepelt, or something more original like Whitewind). The leader must say the naming speech. The ceremony ends with the warrior(s) being left in silent vigil in the camp. It means that the warrior(s) must stay outside to guard the camp in silence. At sunrise, they can speak and finally go to sleep. The naming speech is done so like this- Leader: "I, _____star, leader of ______Clan, call upon my warrior ancestors to look down on these two apprentices. They have trained hard to understand the ways of your code, and I commend them to you as warriors in their turn. _____paw [add another cat or two, if there are more than one], do you promise to upholed the warrior code and to protect and defend this Clan, evan at the cost of your life?" Apprentice[s]: "I do" Leader: "Then by the powers of StarClan I give you your warrior names: _____paw, from this moment on you will be known as __________[warrior name]. StarClan honors your [insert virtue] and your [insert virtue], and we welcome you as a full warrior of _______Clan." Deputy Ceremony Deputies can die, be exiled, or retire. Always before the next moonhigh, the leader appoints the new deputy. Here is the speech leaders must use- "I say these words before StarClan, that the spirits of our warrior ancestors may hear and approve of my choice. The new deputy of [clan] is [insert warrior name]." Death Ceremony To honor the dead, the cat's closest friends share tongues with him/her for the last time. Cats say a few words, like a funeral. Then they stand vigil with the dead cat 'till sunrise, to make sure that there will be safe travel to StarClan. Then, -usually the Elders- they bury the cat in camp. Cats buried in camps will never be forgotten & are often visited by thier friends. Leader Ceremony When the leader dies, the deputy takes over the clan. So, the deputy goes to the Moonstone and recieve 9 lives from 9 cats in their past that have joined StarClan. Each of the 9 lives hold a special quality that are found in leaders. StarClan Accounts will accept cats requesting 9 lives. You can change the wording a bit, but this is just basically how they go.^^ |

Lol, upholed. XD I think you mean uphold, without the 'e'. :)
And why do we use this apprentice-naming ceremony instead of the original one? It sounds a lot like the deputy-naming ceremony... |
