[Abraham/Abe Sapien]

But how can I fail to solve it? ....

There will be at least a thousand combinations and I'm here to solve for years ....

But how is it that we can not?

Cube .... I think it is defective ... it has always been and I'm losing time ...


Walking and solve the puzzle of a colorful cube, the rubik cube, was a complicated action, but when decided that it was time to solve at least one side of that damned skill game , Abe Sapien was able to carefully investigate and solve a riddle.
The oval and blue face was illuminated by the light of a street lamp , his head without hair made his look shiny wet ..
His walk was distracted, however, similar to that of an elegant figure dressed in black. The protective and impervious suit exalting every part of his body tall and athletic, even if the long back was half curved enough to allow his eyes to see the best colored squares of each cube face with blue glass eyes that were trying to see well in the light of street lamps. Walked in the alleys and therefore the risk of being seen was lower, with the headset ready to capture any sengale or in the case of a Tom protest in to see him that seemed more interested in the cube than the mission. In part it was true ...

His foot tripping on a sidewalk and off of the flexible body of the fish seemed to lose the balance only for a moment before returning fluid in got up, the cube, however, eluded the fingers grab and rolled on the ground, in the darkness ...

[Tosali]

Watching above from a window of an abandoned building, was Tosali. She had spent the entire afternoon looking down at the people, trying to learn all she could of them by watching. It was little what she would discover of these humans just by looking, but atleast she was able of acquiring their language quite quickly.
It was dark now, and much to her disapointment, little by little people stopped passing by. Curiosity was urging her to leave the building and go somewhere else where she could find more humans, but that wasn't a very responsable thing to do if she didn't know well enough the streets. Tosali reclutantly decided she would have to whait for sunrise in order to leave the place again.

Behind her were a couple of bags with food, books and clothes she had exchanged for jewelry at a nearby market.One of her tiny hands reached for an apple, as she sat near the window.The size of the apple she had in her hand made her look at it for a moment... she didn't remember having seen one before with -that- size.. and the colors! The tree who made those apples must'ave been very generous to produce such fruit..
If the size and color are this beautiful, i guess the flavor must be this nice too. She thought to herself, and gave it a huge bite.
Oposite to what she had expected, the flavor wasn't that of the apples she had tried before. There was something strange about it.. it ddn't just had a very unnatural flavor, there was something slightly evil in it as she tried very hard not to spit it out.

Suddenly, she heard something under her window. There was a tall figure dressed in black clothes, and seemed to be up to something. She could see this person had blue skin and a bald head. Huge black eyes and some sort of spectacles on them. Clearly, he wasn't human. Tosali jumped from her seat letting the apple fall from her hands, and ran downstairs. Maybe this creature could tell her where in this city she could find where elves dweled.. or if there where elves at all.
She came out the service door of the building and stood for a moment at the back of the dark alley. Self-doubting herself for a moment, she wondered if it was safe to go and speak to him, then she watched him trip on the sidewalk and by the expression he had on his peculiar face as he watched the object roll into the darkness, she re-asured herself there was no danger.
The strange object stopped a few feet away from her. Tosali rolled down the long sleeve of her right arm and used it as a manner of glove, in case it was dangerous to touch it directly with her hand.
She turned it several times, not understanding what the function of this object was.. it looked alot like a puzzle, but it had no symbols, just colors.

"I've got it..!" She said as she stepped out into the light. The closer she came upon this person the more she tried not to stare directly at his face. She was a curious person allright, but she knew that perhaps it would be considered rude to do so. "I-Here it is, Tlakatl-Sir-Signore." She lifted the cube and shook it near her ear, still wondering what that was, then handed it to him.
Not being able to resist and look up again, her eyes examined him from head to.. toes..? Tosali smiled. Of all the creatures she had seen in her long life, this wasn't one of those she was familiar with. With almost a childish tone of voice, she asked "What-who are you..? Humans don't come after you if they see you out here?"

But why cannot ever have a firm grip? Damned slippery skin!

Commented in his mind and went with quick and serpentine step in an attempt to recover his cube before fall somewhere. Two centuries to solve two sides were many but didn't want to restart all.

Stop, stop, stop .... !


Mr.Blue walked zig zag crossing some tramp or a walker that obviously looked with an incredulous look, but rather passive. God bless the alchol and those who drink in that hour of the night.
His cube kept to roll emitting a rubbed plastic noise on the asphaltand finally stopped.

Thanks God.

With relief he saw that wasn't fallen in any manhole or worse and a few steps from him, however, Blue stood like a mast between the darkness behind him and his rubik's cube. A slender arm by the peach pink color skin took the cube with delicacy and the movement of his large oval eyes of Abe moved on foot up to the head, following the movement of the arm while completely seen a slender and delicate figure in the dark.

A woman. No. It is not a woman. ... But it is not human. But what is it? ...

Blue had thought that last final words. He was a monster but a monster understood when saw something beautiful. Avoiding to be seen as bog in his vacant aspect, shaking a hand of the thin arm with weightlessness and the hand covered by blacks gloves were opened in a greeting sign

"That's my" with embarrassment and pointed for a moment the cube but Abe was more interested on who had ir in rhw hand and petrified for a moment to her question about what he was.

What I'm... good question. I would like know that too since centuries.

He shook the blue and beige spotted big head "I? I'm.... ah ... do not worry, humans see many strange things at this night hour ..." and he noticed the type of walkers of that hour of the night, especially drunkards. Be mistaken for alchol hallucinations was fun and approached with cautious and reverential step.
"If I may ask ... it's not dangerous that you're here?" He asked.

Interesting variety of humans indeed, were those that would come out of their homes at night. Some were normal-looking with adventurous attitudes, and some others were to be easily mistaken for magical creatures... specially the so-called Goths. With their pale skin and black lips, some of them could pass for elves walking down the street.

Of course in was quite entertaining to try to match with which magical creatures this human resembled with their exotic and extravagant looks, yet Tosali kept wishing she would stumble upon a -real- creature for a change--- and now before her was one.
Tempted to ask for his hand and read who he was, she restrained from doing so. Tosali had been watching the whole day how humans related, and felt curious about how they would tend to discover little by little about the other person instead of wanting to know everything right away.

Not sure of how to greet him, she copied right away the greeting sign the made with his hand, then bowed.
The funny little object with colored tiles on all sides returned to its owner.

Tosali laughed sofly. "Forgive me for inquiring such things. I'm sure you are part of my world, yet i'm not familiar with your kind."
The woman kept looking at him with great curiosity, "Had one like you been seen some centuries ago you would have been mistaken with God Tlaloc...." The bright blue of his skin and the glass tubes around his neck reminded her of the ancient Aztec God of water once worshiped by humans.

"I? I'm.... ah ... do not worry, humans see many strange things at this night hour ..."

She nodded "True, and not only them. Some days ago i thought i had seen an elven soldier being swallowed by a metal-coated serpent that i figure humans call Metro."


"If I may ask ... it's not dangerous that you're here?" The blue man asked.

Tosali's face glowed in excitement as she heard him say the word dangerous. She looked up at him with a rather mischiveous smile, like that of a child."Of course it is dangerous, We have been told not to wander about in human territory by ourselves due to the present situation.. As you can see, me being here means i have disobeyed; yet i have a good excuse that perhaps will grant me forgiveness: I am here because i want to learn as much as i can about today's humans."

knowledge is far more effective weapon... even though i am not unfamiliar with bloodshed, i prefer avoiding it as much as possible. The elven woman thought with an inperceptible sadness. It didn't matter how much she had come to despise humans, she wasn't yet entirely sure they should be wipped out of this earth.

Her green eyes were set on a car that parked not very far from where they were; Human inventions happened to amuse her greatly. "But don't worry sir, this week i have learned so far that things like this one happen to scare away most humans." Tosali discretely showed the blue man a gun she had hidden between the folds of her robes.

"So, what is this object you had been paying so much attention to a while ago?" Just s sudenly as she had been interested in the nearby car, her attention was drawn again into the multi-colored cube held in his hand.

Hearing her words seemed obvious that speaks about herself as belonging to something, a group or something else.
"I fear that I'm not understand. You have disobeyed to who?" Abe couldn't laugh , without the possibility to do it, she was speaking as if the thing was really obvious. However, his mouth lifted up the wet dark lips "I don't want seem offensive, but what are you talking about? Observe humans?" Abe hated what he was going to do but it was unintentional and tried to read her mind.
Standing in silence for some minutes with his blue head lowered and seemed was looking at the asphalt beneath their feet then lifted a hand lined in black gloves and pointed at her with the flexible movement of his finger "You are an elf .... a creature... very very old .. and. .. you have disobeyed to your kind for study humans and their world " with the thoughtful voice before heading back to realize that she was before him. Abe always alienated when receiving the emotions or thoughts of others as if he was in another dimension and back.
"An elf? You ... you are something of incredible! Is the testimony of several legends, you know this?"

Abe expressed a bit of hesitation when he saw pull a 38 caliber in the folds of her dress, immediately hesitated on whether to or not trust of that so innocent face. He could read her mind but doesn't predict whether she had good intentions or bad, could knew if she lied not if attacked.
"I think you not understand that that is a weapon, dangerous if we want say further. Not only scare humans and kill them but if you're not careful can risk even your own life," warned cautious. Luckily that no one circulating in the street, Abe didn't want even imagine what could happen.
Approached with caution , was very beautiful and so fragile that was unthinkable that a dangerous object such as a gun could stay between her fingers.

Saw her be interested by a car that passed through there before back to keep to observe with substantial interest his cube "is a game" came up with more caution, perhaps was better that took her gun but how she would have reacted for fear or anger was very difficult to imagine "is a skill and memory game, I try to fix it since years but this is my fault. Some children are able to solve it in few hours. Strange and embarrassing, right?"

Finding another non-human in the big and dark city had made her forget about propiety for a moment, resulting in her speaking about what she was doing there as if she had known him from a long time ago. She was friendly by nature, but this trait had got her into trouble several times.

"I fear that I'm not understand. You have disobeyed to who?" Asked Abe, "I don't want seem offensive, but what are you talking about? Observe humans?"

The elven woman looked at the peculiar gesture of his hand until she understood what he was about to do. Having nothing against him, she allowed him to do so.

"You are an elf .... a creature... very very old .. and. .. you have disobeyed to your kind for study humans and their world. An elf? You ... you are something of incredible! Is the testimony of several legends, you know this?"

The woman looked down and laughed softly. "Yes, i'm rather familiar with the stories and leyends related to us; you would be surprised if i told you about how much of what human books say is actually true. You see, Our world has a generalized hate towards humans; I cannot say i'm fond of them, but recently the anger and hatred have been rather intoxicating... as if our world wasn't dead enough already."
Now that he knew about her, she felt even more tempted to know about him. Curiosity kept on pushing, finally making her decide she would only look for his name... and perhaps a -little more-. Tosali raised her hand rather shyly, and placed it against his.

She jumped in surprise to learn he had a quite interesting past, but feeling that perhaps she was being much of an intruder Tosali moved on to his present. "Abraham Sapien, member of the B.P.R.D.. Paranormal research? If you happen to be part of the paranormal world, and at the same time you are a member of this organization, then it means... you work with the humans?!" She looked at him in way that denoted respect and admiration. Many questions then popped up in her head; If humans were described as vile creatures in her world, how come Abraham, who wasn't one of them could actually work with them?
This information gave her a feeling similar to that which humans experience when they are "iluminated".

"I think you not understand that that is a weapon, dangerous if we want say further. Not only scare humans and kill them but if you're not careful can risk even your own life."

Tosali looked up at him and rapidly raised her free hand to show him she meant no harm "Oh please signore, i did not meant to disturb you with this--" the gun was spinning carelessly on one of her porcelain-like fingers as if it was a toy. "Do not worry, i know well how to use this little... cannons? I have been collecting them for years; big ones, small ones, old, new..." Noticing that handling the weapon like that still had him somewhat anxious and worried, she stopped spinning it as he aproached her carefully. Even though she wasn't reading his thoughts, she knew by the way he looked at her that he was thinking about taking the gun from her. She slowly lowered her hand, and hid it behind her discretely.

"is a game. is a skill and memory game, I try to fix it since years but this is my fault. Some children are able to solve it in few hours. Strange and embarrassing, right?" Blue said, explaining to her what the object was.

The elf laughed softly as she heard how he had tried to solve it without achieving success. "Well, if human children can solve this, i dare say you shall find the answer to it too. It's nothing to be embarrassed of; had this puzzle been easy to solve, would you have enjoyed it as much as if it was an easy one?"
Her small and delicate hand took the puzzle, and turned it over to see all it's sides. "I doubt you would have liked to solve it fast... All of us thinking creatures apreciate more that knowledge which we have acquired throught some sort of hardship.."

I cannot say i'm fond of them, but recently the anger and hatred have been rather intoxicating... as if our world wasn't dead enough already.

That was a sensational discovery, sensational! He was thrilled in every fiber of his body and it was evident by the beaten of his side eyelids. As already said he couldn't express a lot with the facial expressions, his wasn't usual kind of face.
" If I can,... if I can " Abe started to speak with more fire in the voice however rather low and hesitant " this is a discovery that I cannot ignore kind woman, you are the testimony of a lot of legends and... I would desire to ask more you about this information" did a soft but negative movement with the long hand " I don't have any intentions to harm" kept on telling with gentleness and with that hesitancy voice that if adds to his aspect it was believable. Abe was slender and tall, perhaps his height could only be considered something of dangerous but immediately after the initial shock of his aspect it was impossible to judge him dangerous. He preferred so, Red had the title of dangerous while him the reflexive one. " Call me Abe, Abe Sapien. My true name... oeh, better leaving" added then looking through the mask of his water glasses .

Abraham Sapien, member of the B.P.R.D.. Paranormal research? If you happen to be part of the paranormal world, and at the same time you are a member of this organization, then it means... you work with the humans?!

Abe gained that also she had the skill in read the mind and even if he had told her his name she had got other about him thanks to this. Amazing! . Abe was a quiver of curiosity and desire to know. " Yes . That's the truth" confirmed Abe " I work for a boureau, we exist since many years and we study... we work for protecting what it is also our world. Yes" concluded confirming with the blue head. " You however seems ...feel wonder" Abe hung with the head " I cannot do to less than ask me... how I can learn from you, you can from me. I feel that you want to have the knowledge of something how much me of another" did again some footstep.

Without stopping in to observe carefully as she handle the gun and still hoping that nobody saw them, with mention of Abe's head to a nearby junk truck . There his colleagues hid in the hold. Blue thought as well to move. "Can I ask if I get the honor of giving you guidance on this small toy or what you want to know.
Me and you, we have many things in common ... " was one right word that?
