"Eenie meanie miny moe, catch a Kira by the toe.
If it cries, kill it slow."

Hunched over on the cold cracked concrete, Anansi uttered his rhyme, his eyes fixed on the object before him, one hand plucking an instrument from a stained cloth by his side. Contrary to his disheveled appearance, his hands moved with surgical efficiency. A steady hand manipulating the forceps, taking a wire and slotting it into its place in the mechanism. It was almost like a puzzle, a very heavy, very sensitive puzzle, that would blow the entire building sky high given the right chemical reaction.

He was alone in room, as it should be. People knew not to disturb Anansi. However today he would leave his room, for the more open floor in the rest of the warehouse occupied by the anti-Kira group. Two orphans from Wammy's House had found them, and joined them. They were inducted into the group by Mentally Morphine himself. And now, Anansi wanted to meet them.

Pushing the device away from him, he stood. They should be here by now. Anansi literally skipped to the door and threw it open, stalking out of the dark room and settling into the edge of the shadows, his form partially obscured. To those who listened carefully, almost inhoherent whispers could be heard. "C'monc'monc'mon. Let's go, go."

"Don' make any sudden movements," Mentally said to the girls behind him. In the nose of mask, there was a voice changer that made his charming English voice sound high pitched and two-toned. It was a shame that they had to leave immediately Starling's to go meet one of Mentally's "subordinates". Although it was cute to see Archetype and Beta in gas masks.

Their footsteps echoed over the concrete floor they walked on, and Mentally's eyes were scanning every corner they past for anything suspicious. He was always cautious when he showed his true face to one of his followers for the first time.

And then he caught a glimpse of a man with a mask of his own looking out from a door. He put out an arm to make sure the girls stayed put, and he walked forward.

The man seemed a little taller than Mentally himself, and definitely much stronger, but the man didn't allow himself to be intimidated. Mentally came up to him, "Are you Anansi?" he said through his inhuman vocals.

Archetype adjusted the gas mask currently hiding her face and wished again that she could have just worn scarves like she and Beta had been wearing for the last few days. But at Mentally’s instance, here they were at the living space of one of his subordinates in uncomfortable attire. She could use the word “living space” loosely, the place was a complete dump. But it made sense. Fugitives and people on the run from Kira’s dictatorship weren’t going to live in luxury.

“Okay,” she muttered through the front of the mask, making sure to stay close to him. Archetype didn’t feel like she could make sudden movements even if she wanted to. The last few days of being on edge had left her exhausted. She just hoped that this meeting went well enough that they would be allowed at least a few hours of sleep. Hopefully in a room with more light than they had been exposed to the last few evenings. Beta knew of her need to sleep with a light of some type on, but on the run such small commodities were simply not provided. Besides, it was a childish thing to sleep with a nightlight on, she understood that. The fear of living in darkness was too far ingrained in her mind.

The man gestured for her to stay back, and she did gladly. Peering out through her mask, she could just barely make out the figure of a man obscured in the shadows. Unconsciously she stepped closer to Beta, as if the girl could protect her from any harm that this mystery man could produce. Mentally didn’t seem so mean spirited that he would knowingly lead them into danger, but at the same time, there was no “safe” situation for this group any longer.
