Registration:

When registering on the site, please be sure to do it correctly. The registration format is First M. Last - meaning we want to see proper capitalization as well as the first name, middle initial (or in some cases with some of these characters, middle initials) and last name.

[i.e, John M. Smith]

Simple really. We don't think we're asking overly much when we ask our members to follow this rule. If you happen to pull a big no-no and register your account before reading these rules, please contact an Admin via PM with the correct spelling of your name change and we'll change it for you. Likewise, if you decide you want a character name change, feel free to PM us in regards to that as well.

Characters

We allow both canon and originals on this site. If you're interested in taking up a canon character with some plots already laid down for them, please feel free to check out the canon list. Please also feel free to check out the wanted ads and pick up a request that someone has. Please remember, however, that the ideas laid out in the canon list are property of the admins and, as a result, we reserve the right to reject a character if they're not quite what we imagined or if they stray too far from their plotline. We're not trying to hold anyone back, but understand that these characters are the way they are for a reason. They have an importance in the game that we need their players to be able to adhere to.

Likewise, if a player is requesting a character in the wanted section, please be mindful of the needs that they have for that character to fulfill.

We don't want Mary Sues/Gary Stus here. Be original and creative with your characters. No one's perfect. If they're cookie cutters or cut and paste from a character from a book or movie, we'll know it. It's perfectly fine to take inspiration from an author or a movie, but don't completely rip the character off! Likewise for naming your characters. No Serena Van Der Woodsen or Blair Waldorf. Be original. You can choose names from real life families if you so choose, but make sure your character is original and most important... DO YOUR RESEARCH!

You're permitted as many characters as you can handle. That is, so long as your characters are all active, you could have twenty of them! We like activity though! We want to be sure that you're going to be active. That being said, make sure that you have plots going with your characters and a thread up before you apply for another or admins may deny your application until you manage to get them active.

PLAY BYS AND GRAPHICS:

So you want a play by that's already been taken on the board? Sorry. That's unfortunate, but if someone's claimed it before you, they've got dibs on that play by. Don't pester another player to change their play by based on your preference. This isn't acceptable. And as far as 'twins' go... We don't want a million of them running around, so unless it's written into the character, don't even think about it.

As far as play by age restriction, we don't want to see any play by's younger than fifteen years old. None of us need child rights on our bottoms for something unacceptable. The admins will absolutely NOT budge on this rule. Fifteen is the cap. Adhere to it.

When it comes to graphics, we don't want signatures that are wider than 500 px. Anything bigger than that will stretch the board and then I'll have to smack you down. In terms of height for signatures, please don't exceed 350px. No one wants to have to scroll past 1000px worth of signature to read the post. Avatar maximum is 200 x 300. That's more than fair. Be mindful of it. We are also asking that no one uses GIF graphics... no flashing, moving, distracting graphics. They tend to draw the eye just a wee bit too much when people are trying to focus on reading and writing posts.

When it comes to what is and is not appropriate for graphics, we don't want any blatant nudity in them. Be tasteful!

Posting:

We're a moderate to advance site here. We don't want one liners. They're not acceptable in the least. We'd prefer not to place a word count to restrict our players in the least, but we request that majority of your posts that are in excess of 400 words. We understand that sometimes it is easier to play out scenarios in a more 'quick fire/short post' sort of way, so we do have a specific section for that. Please do not abuse this section or you will be talked to by an admin.

When creating a new character, we ask that you have at least 4 posts with your most recently created character. Games and Out of Character posts do not count.

We ask that everyone's making one post a week. If you're going to be absent for a long period of time, be sure to post in the absence forums and let us know that you're gone. There's even a form conveniently placed there for you to fill out! Use it!

Bottom line! Be respectful to your fellow RPer's and your admins!
