located in a far off and abandoned corner of the hogwarts grounds, the graveyard has been long since forgotten about. while it doesn't hold the glamor of albus dumbledore's memorial, its worn down tombstones and overgrown weeds hold an almost serene quality.

HOGSMEADE
hogsmeade is the only entirely wizarding village in britain. according to tradition it was founded over a thousand years ago, around the same time as Hogwarts, by hengist of woodcroft as he was fleeing persecution by muggles. it's a picturesque little village of thatched cottages and shops, with enchanted candles hanging in the trees during the holidays

DIAGON ALLEY
tapping just the right brick in the wall behind the leaky cauldron in london will reveal an archway which is a portal into diagon alley, a long cobbled street where is to be found a strange and exciting assortment of shops and restaurants. It is unquestionably the hub of commerce in the british wizarding world, with virtually every wizarding business stationed there.

KNOCKTURN ALLEY
While Diagon Alley hustles and bustles, Knockturn Alley seethes. Notoriously perceived as grungy, lowly, and dark. Ironically, it is not uncommon to see the wealthiest old family names passing through. Among the shops of interest to these mostly pureblood families is Borgin and Burkes. Gambling, solicitors, and petty theft is not uncommon if you don't know your way. It's best to not look like an 'easy target'.

SAINT MUNGOS
founded in late 1500s or early 1600s by mungo bonham, st. mungo's hospital is the primary wizarding hospital in Britain. Located in an abandoned department store in london, the hospital's Healers treat wizards for all sorts of magic-related illnesses and injuries, and in extreme circumstances has been known to treat muggles as well. the hospital's logo is a wand and a bone, crossed, and donations are welcome.

AZKABAN
azkaban is a terrible place. Prisoners were for years guarded by dementors, horrible creatures who have been described as "sightless soul-sucking fiends." they feed on positive emotions, which means that after spending much time in the prison, the prisoners lose all hope and all good feelings and thoughts. they are forced to relive the darkest, most horrible memories of their lives. some go mad, others simply despair and die.

ENTRANCE HALL
After the last lunch, which officially ends at 3 p.m, the students are allowed to wander a bit. Everyone's luggage is getting taken care of, so anything not on your person is currently being shipped down to the Hogwarts train. The professors lining the hall and staircases prevent students from sneaking off to any other part of the school without proper supervision. Restroom stops, however, are allowed.

On a beautiful day in June, it would be a shock if the children weren't outside basking in the warm light. Whether they are playing, giving tearful goodbyes, or merely trying to catch some sun, the hour counts down as the thestral-drawn carriages will begin to arrive at 4 p.m.

CARRIAGES
While a moderate journey from the castle down to Hogsmeade station, it is also a smooth and enjoyable one. When in the right company, one can thoroughly enjoy the ride and the view the carriages have to offer. The ride stops right at Hogsmeade Station where you will have to find and claim your luggage in order to board the train.

HOGSMEADE STATION
It is most certainly a busy day at Hogsmeade Station. The hustle of students finding and lugging around their belongings is enough to feel claustrophobic. If you want a good seat, you better board fast, otherwise you could end up sitting next to strangers. The train promptly leaves at 5:45

KIRKSTALL ABBEY
LOCATION: West Yorkshire, England
Along the banks of the River Aire, from out of a lush, vividly green clearing, rises the ancient ruins of Kirkstall Abbey. It is a dark contrast from the determined forces of nature that has grown around it and even a mid-day sun can not reach it’s dreary, well-worn halls. Built in 1152 or sometime shortly thereafter, it is considered a prime example of Cistercian architecture. The sturdy, stone structure still stands to it’s full height, seemingly indestructible and rigid against the tests of time, except for the thick lines of ivy snaking up and reaching across each of its sides. At one point, an entire community of monks and lay brothers were housed within the walls and where patches of farmed soil were once in evidence, there is only grassy fields. In 1539, King Henry VIII put an abrupt end to all monastic activities, forcing every monk into ‘retirement’ and giving the lands to Thomas Cranmer, Archbishop of Canterbury. When Crammer’s 'religious practices' displeased the king, the lands were confiscated and Crammer was burned on a pyre for his heresy. Now, the abbey appears menacing, ominous, and above all, empty. To the muggle eye, at least. For witches and wizards, it's yet another marker where muggles and warlocks found disagreement in history.

THE HELLFIRE CLUB
LOCATION: Dublin, Ireland
Set upon a hill overlooking the spectacular countryside of Dublin sit’s a rather morose building. Built in 1725, originally as a hunting lodge, the building now referred to as The Hellfire Club has always been a site surrounded by rumor of supernatural happenings. It became a regular meeting place for a group that appeared to be indulging in Satanic worship from muggle perspective. Many strange tales have become a part of local folklore, including extreme drinking sessions, black masses, ritual sacrifices and demon sightings (binging, dark artifacts, bar fights, and the occasional werewolf or vampire). One tale includes a man who had cloven hooves for feet, who could disappear in a cloud of smoke. The skeleton of a ‘dwarfish’ figure was also found at the site. There are a bit of woods forming a semi-circle around the actual building. The charred remains are a result of having survived two fires. The first is explained to be accidental, caused by some spilled whiskey set alight. The second when tar barrels were set ablaze by Irish Patriots who revolted over the arrival of Queen Victoria on a visit to Ireland. Due to the amount of supposed Dark Magic and haunting, muggles usually steered clear then, and now it is unplottable and practically invisible to most all muggles - unless they literally stepped into the house - and survived.

CATACOMBS OF PARIS
LOCATION: Paris, France
Beneath the city of lights lie a system of dim, dank tunnels and caverns. The entrance is a narrow hall, which harbor large, protruding stones. A few torches are lit to battle the gloom, but more often than not, they serve to cast eerie shadows across the walls and floors. At some points, the tunnels open into rooms that once served as a dumping ground for cemeteries that had been too full; a storage units for bones, which are still piled there today. Much of it has been left undiscovered and unused, so those having the power to reach these well-hidden places have an unlimited amount of privacy. Sometimes, there are decent-sized raves held in them, where underage drinking and drug usage are left virtually unmonitored by law enforcement.

AMIKA NIGHTCLUB
LOCATION: London, England
Definitely one of the nicest clubs in London, Amika is more than a teen hang-out spot and tends to attract a more sophisticated guest list. It’s decor mixes futuristic furnishings with music playing the newest tunes. There are large antique light fittings and many bright colored neon lights as well. The dance floor is spacious and the music is always up-beat, usually of the wizarding trance, pop, or dance variety.

SAN VITO LO CAPO BEACH
LOCATION: Sicily
Surrounded by a charming coastal town, evidence of tourism has not yet damaged the peaceful scenery. The beach is long and sandy, though somewhat narrow. The water is intensely blue, very clean, and the waves are usually calm. It is somewhat hidden by limestone cliffs and the single windy path that leads to the beach keeps it a somewhat ’secret’ spot. Many witches and wizards see it as the perfect place for vacations, or an escape.

STONEHENGE
LOCATION: Wiltshire, England
A sacred place, Stonehenge attracts both the muggle and wizard variety. While muggles wonder how exactly the stones came to be, wizards aren't afraid of believing that Merlin - with aid of giants - brought these healing stones to Wiltshire. It was to be a place of healing back when hospitals weren't common or even fathomed yet. Today it still stands a relic and a reminder of one of the greatest wizards of all time.
